The 'unhinged' reason Juliette wasn't at the final MAFS Australia Commitment Ceremony: 'I thought she was going to slap me!'

Joel and Juliette came to blows once more

MAFS Australia is coming to an end this week, and some of the cast chose not to attend the reunion specials – but why did Juliette not go to the Commitment Ceremony?

After a very explosive series, many brides and grooms have had to issue grovelling apologies for things they have said and done during the show. But some of them even decided to hide from the experts at the reunion, as they knew their behaviour would be called out.

Juliette did attend the Reunion Dinner Party – unlike Brook and Chris. But it appears a huge fight between her and Joel happened off-camera that made her decide she would not come back for the Commitment Ceremony. So, what happened between Juliette and her ex-husband?

Juliette was ‘sulking’ during the Reunion Dinner Party

Throughout Joel and Juliette’s time on MAFS, the couple found it very hard to even see eye-to-eye. And at some points, Juliette just fully refused to speak to him, hiding in the bathroom, away from his “evil eyes”.

Ultimately, Juliette stormed off after getting told off by the experts, and she did not come back, ending their time in the experiment.

Ex-husband Joel Moses spoke to Chattr about Juliette’s absence from the Commitment Ceremony. But he wasn’t too surprised, as none of the cast seemed particularly happy to see her at the Dinner Party.

He admitted that Juliette sat “at the very end” of the table by herself. And while she was down there she was “sulking, looking sad and despondent” as nobody would speak to her.

However, there was one person who decided to try to get Juliette to join the group – her frenemy, Gia.

According to Joel, Gia urged Juliette to move closer to the rest of the group. But after a private chat between the two girls, Juliette was once again “riled up”. And Joel believes what happened next was the true reason she didn’t attend the ceremony.

Why did Juliette skip the MAFS Australia reunion Commitment Ceremony?

Joel explained: “Juliette and I started going at it and screaming at each other. No one could get a word in. We were just screaming. She was saying that I didn’t respect her boundaries.”

However, Joel then “revealed something that happened behind closed doors” which seemed to anger Juliette even more.

He admitted: “Juliette actually squared up to me. Like face-to-face. I thought she was going to slap me, dead set.

“She was looking at me, eye-to-eye. I thought she was going to slap me. But she didn’t do it, which was probably better.”

Joel did admit there was a moment he thought he could “benefit” if she did slap him, but ultimately Juliette “stormed off” and was “curled up in a ball” in the hallway. However, Joel found the whole confrontation “unhinged” and “deranged”.

This fight, Joel believes, led to Juliette fearing another “savage beat down” from the experts as she “didn’t want to be exposed or humiliated”.

Joel found it “disappointing” that his ex-wife avoided showing up, as he thought he “deserved” another chance to sit on the couch and speak to the experts.
