MAFS Australia's retreat in meltdown over Bec's 'bad joke' but fans think Gia is the real 'master manipulator'

Bec's joke leaves Rachel in tears

MAFS Australia‘s Bec Zacharia has sent this year’s couples’ retreat into meltdown – but it is Gia Fleur who fans have the biggest issue with.

Bec causes carnage in tonight’s episode of Married At First Sight Australia when she makes a crass joke.

Her attempt at a quip leaves Rachel Gilmore in floods of tears and soon there is uproar among the group.

But MAFS Australia fans are convinced Bec isn’t solely to blame for the furore.

They are convinced Gia is the “master manipulator” hiding behind all of the drama.

MAFS Australia’s Bec sends retreat into meltdown

The gang is seen arriving in the countryside tonight for the MAFS Australia annual couples’ retreat. The guys all race to the bedrooms as the girls quickly begin catching up with each other.

Later, they reunite on an outdoor veranda and Rachel bravely tells them about hers and Steven Danyluk’s relationship. She says: “I wanted to share an update in mine and Steven’s relationship.

“Last night, our intimacy levels increased. While we have not banged yet, it’s really exciting.”

Rachel doesn’t go into exact details, but Bec decides in her mind what it means. She tells Steven: “I’m so excited you finger banged.”

Steven looks extremely uncomfortable and, away from the group, tells the cameras that Bec makes him “feel uncomfortable”. He also describes her as “vulgar”.

But then it only gets worse.

Gathering everyone around, Bec stands up and declares: “I wanted to call you all here because it’s the first night of retreat and we’ve had ‘I love yous’, we’ve had a couple that I thought could not come back from the brink of hell, and we’ve had finger bangs, so like…”

Rachel looks mortified but Bec doesn’t seem to notice and just cheers.

Gia, meanwhile, looks over to Rachel and mouths: “Are you okay?” Rachel tells her: “I’m not okay.”

Gia and Juliette wade into the Bec joke row

The following day, Gia and Juliette Chae are sunbathing around the pool with Bec when she makes another ‘joke’. She says she is going to “get merch” with her crass comment on the front.

Gia – who has had an issue with Bec from the start – immediately takes Rachel’s side, along with Juliette.

“This is very Bec behaviour. She kept going on about these disgusting comments and making merch for it. It wasn’t nice,” Gia says to the camera.

In her bedroom, Gia also says to her husband Scott McCristal: “Im wondering if Bec’s going to apologise to Rachel. I think she should.

“I wonder how many times she’s going to keep apologising and then doing the same things.”

Later, the females have a Girls’ Night and Gia is very quick to throw Bec under the bus. In front of Rachel, she says: “When are you going to be accountable for repeated behaviour?

“Let’s call bull[bleep]. If you support the relationship, then why are you going round at the pool with Juliette and I saying you want to get merch?”

The episode ends with Bec and Danny calling a private chat with Rachel and Steven. But again Rachel is left crying when she finds out Steven spoke to Bec briefly earlier in the day about the furore.

Rachel then walks out.

Gia branded ‘Master Manipulator’

A trailer for Wednesday’s episode shows Gia and Juliette talking to Rachel in her bedroom.

The voiceover says “Gia and Juliette seize the opportunity to further stir up the tension.”

Gia tells Rachel in the clip: “I don’t know why she does this.” Juliette adds: “I don’t think I could ever trust her again.”

Bec, meanwhile, says no one has spoken to her all day.

Fans who have already seen the episode in Australia quickly made up their minds on who the real troublemaker is. And they are pointing the finger directly at Gia.

Writing online, one Aussie viewer said: “Everyone is here blaming Bec vs Rachel but ignoring the obvious factor who is thriving off the drama – Master Manipulator Gia.”

Another added: “Gia and Juliette drive me mad when they twist other people’s arguments just to stir up more drama and somehow come out of it looking clean. They’re the real mean girls if you ask me.”

And a third wrote: Gia pulled her [bleep] stirring spoon out.”
