Double trouble: MAFS USA shocks fans with huge unexpected twist as Jalyn's mum Belynda is also getting married on the show
They are the first mother-daughter duo in MAFS historyMAFS USA is kicking things off tonight with a huge and very unexpected twist – new bride Jalyn Garcia’s mum Belynda is also getting married on the show.
Fans will be delivered the surprise bombshell after watching Jalyn say “I do” to complete stranger, Josh Black.
Throughout the first episode, Jalyn makes no hint that her mum, Belynda Chapa, is also appearing in the new series, which starts on E4 tonight.
But at her wedding reception, husband Josh is let in on the big secret by his new mother-in-law.
MAFS USA: Jalyn and Josh
Estate agent Jalyn (or ‘realtor’, as they like to call it in America) and Josh are the first couple to tie the knot on series 19 of Married At First Sight USA.
A staggering 105,000 people applied to take part, with only five grooms and five brides making the final cut.
Jalyn, 27, makes her intentions clear from the outset: “I’m a hopeless romantic. I want to have kids and a family by 30 so my clock is ticking. I’m looking for my fairytale ending,” she says.
Josh, 31, feels the same, also telling the experts: “I’m definitely looking for my happy ever after. I’m extremely affectionate, I’m a lover by nature. The thing missing is the person next to my side.”

The professional roofer reveals he was raised by his grandmother, as his mum was sent to prison when he was three. Her crime isn’t revealed, although she wasn’t released until he was 16.
Speaking about her absence at his wedding, Josh says: “I love her and care about her. But I’m not bringing her around my family.”
Josh only met his biological father in recent years.
“I took a DNA test and wanted to know where I came from,” he adds. “I just met my father for the first time ever. He didn’t know I existed.”
Despite marrying a total stranger, Josh also didn’t invite his dad to the wedding because he “doesn’t know him well enough yet”.
Jalyn has had her fair share of emotional trauma, too. She reveals her ex-boyfriend died after she’d entered a new relationship. She then discovered her new man was cheating.

The initial signs are good. Jalyn fancies Josh and the feeling appears mutual.
Later, at their wedding reception, they even kiss during their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s hit song, Azizam.
It is then that Jalyn’s mum Belynda, 47, drops the bombshell.
Proving she was in on it all along, Jalyn begins the conversation by saying: “So tomorrow….”
Finishing her daughter’s sentence, Belynda tells Josh: “I’m getting married. I want to invite you as you’re my new son in law.”
She then adds: “Also, I’m getting married at first sight as well.”
Josh looks stunned as he exclaims: “No freaking way.”
Belynda warns Jalyn and her new son-in-law: “The family is about to get bigger!”
