True crime and documentary addicts, listen up: we’ve rounded up all of the new documentaries coming to streaming and TV in March 2026.

Netflix has been churning out some serious heavy hitters, no matter what genre of doc you’re into; The Investigation of Lucy Letby, Being Gordon Ramsay, and Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart, to name a few.

Elsewhere, we’ve also had the likes of Channel 5’s breathtaking The Surgeon, 999: What Happened Next on Channel 4, and True Crime Presents’ harrowing exploration of Cordelia Farrell’s case on ITV.

It’s a new month, which means it’s time to organise your telly schedule. So, whether you’re looking for new Netflix recommendations or what’s coming to the BBC, you’re in the right place.

  • Release date: March 5 at 9pm
  • Channel/platform: Channel 4
  • Length: 1 hour 50 minutes

Louis Theroux’s first documentary in three years (and his first feature-length doc for Netflix) is tackling a big, timely topic: the manosphere.

You may be asking, “What’s the manosphere?” In short, it’s the online culture of misogyny, toxic masculinity, and discussion about men’s issues and rights that often promotes unhealthy behaviours.

According to the synopsis, “the 90-minute film explores how key figures, including Harrison Sullivan (AKA HS Tikky Tokky), Myron Gaines, Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy (AKA Sneako), Justin Waller and Ed Matthews, are helping to reshape young men’s ideas about masculinity and fuelling a resurgent global men’s rights movement.”

  • Release date: March 5 at 9pm
  • Channel/platform: Channel 4
  • Length: 1 hour 50 minutes

In November 2017, 14-year-old Molly Russell took her own life.

According to Channel 4’s synopsis, this one-off documentary will follow twin narratives: “the story of what happened to Molly in the lead-up to her tragic death, and the broader economic logic behind AI and Big Tech as it continues to shape, influence and infiltrate our lives.”

“It interrogates one of the defining issues of our time: how digital systems designed for profit have come to shape emotional life and behaviour.”

Maybe you’re not into documentaries about grim, upsetting subject matters. Perhaps you’re more of a Blue Planet and Planet Earth type of person.

Good news: The Dinosaurs, a documentary series about the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, is coming to Netflix this month. Narrated by Morgan Freeman and produced by Steven Spielberg, it’ll chart “where they came from, why they mattered, how they evolved and how they met their ultimate fate”, according to the synopsis.

Faked: Hunting My Online Predator

  • Release date: March 8 at 10:20pm
  • Channel/platform: ITV1 and ITVX
  • Length: 1 hour

In this documentary, three women – strangers living hundreds of miles apart – take matters into their own hands after finding themselves portrayed as offering sexual services in faked profiles, including their names and photographs on dozens of porn sites advertising their sexual services.

They go to the police, but when the authorities can’t help, they decide to track down their predator themselves – and it leads to a five-year search.

In 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese vanished from her West Virginia home. Amid the search for answers, attention turned toward Skylar’s closest friends, “uncovering a tangled web of secrets, betrayal, and identity,” according to the synopsis.

“Told through social media posts, intimate interviews, and Skylar’s own words, Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese is a gripping true-crime docuseries that immerses viewers in the emotional intensity of adolescence… [capturing] the pressures of growing up in the digital age – and the devastating consequences when love turns to hate.”
