Every new movie & TV show on Netflix UK in November 2025

From Stranger Things season 5 to a new must-see thriller series, Netflix has loads in store this month
Cameron Frew

Netflix isn’t messing around in November 2025, with one of its biggest-ever series among the new shows and movies dropping next month.

Yes, we’re talking about Stranger Things Season 5, which finally begins later in November. But that’s not all, and with shows and films dropping throughout the month, it can be tough to keep up with every release date.

To make it easier, this rundown has been split into three categories: the best movies on Netflix you should keep an eye on, new shows you’ll definitely want to watch, and a complete list of everything coming to Netflix UK in November 2025.

New movies to watch on Netflix UK in November 2025

Frankenstein

  • Genre: Horror, Fantasy
  • Release date: November 7, 2025
  • Cast: Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz
  • Director: Guillermo del Toro
  • Runtime: 2 hours 30 minutes

What it’s about: Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.

Why to watch: There are two big reasons to watch Frankenstein. Firstly, just look at the cast: Euphoria star Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s monster, Oscar Isaac as his doomed creator, and Mia Goth as Elizabeth, among other stars.

Secondly, it looks to be another magnificent film from Guillermo del Toro, one of our greatest living filmmakers – and it’s already tipped for multiple Oscar nominations. If anything, we’re spoiled to be getting it on Netflix (though it is getting a limited run in cinemas).

If you’re still in a spooky season mood, we’ve rounded up the best horror movies on Netflix.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas

  • Genre: Comedy, Romance
  • Release date: November 12, 2025
  • Cast: Alicia Silverstone, Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil
  • Director: Steve Carr
  • Runtime: 1 hour 29 minutes

What it’s about: Kate, a new divorcée, wants to have one last perfect family Christmas before she’s forced to sell her house. However, things don’t go to plan, thanks to her ex-husband turning up with his younger and successful new girlfriend.

Why to watch: Some may say it’s too early to watch a Christmas movie. Don’t listen to those people: you can indulge your yuletide excitement when A Merry Little Ex-Mas drops on Netflix.

The streaming platform’s first holiday movie of the year is a big hitter, too, given it stars Clueless legend Alicia Silverstone and The Good Place star Jameela Jamil. Expect cheesy, festive goodness; nothing more, nothing less.

Nouvelle Vague

  • Release date: November 14
  • Genre: Comedy, Drama
  • Cast: Guillaume Marbeck, Zoey Deutch
  • Director: Richard Linklater
  • Runtime: 1 hour 46 minutes

What it’s about: Set at the dawn of the French New Wave movement, Nouvelle Vague follows (and reimagines) the filming of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless.

Why to watch: If you’re a film buff, Nouvelle Vague should be an easy sell. After all, it’s a black and white, Richard Linklater-directed celebration of one of the best and most culturally significant movies ever made.

For everyone else… maybe not so much. Consider this: Nouvelle Vague could spark your curiosity to delve deeper into an era of cinema long before Netflix. Also, if you think you’re unfamiliar with Linklater’s work, remember that he made School of Rock and Netflix’s Hit Man.

New TV shows to watch on Netflix in November 2025

Squid Game: The Challenge season 2

  • Genre: Reality
  • Release date: November 4, 2025
  • Length: 10 episodes (release schedule TBC)

What it’s about: In the second season of Netflix’s reality series, 456 contestants compete in a series of games in pursuit of one of the biggest prize pots in TV history: $4.56 million.

Why to watch: You could argue that a Squid Game reality show misses the point of the series: exploiting people’s dreams of wealth by pitting them against each other is wrong.

It’s a fair point. Unfortunately, Squid Game: The Challenge is sensational TV; a high-stakes clash of ego and desperation in deceptively simple games we all want to try. The first season was incredibly addictive, and it’s hard to imagine season 2 will be any different.

Also, people don’t actually die in this version, so there’s that.

The Beast in Me

  • Genre: Sci-fi, Thriller
  • Release date: November 13, 2025
  • Cast: Claire Danes, Matthew Rhys, Brittany Snow
  • Creator: Gabe Rotter
  • Length: 8 episodes

What it’s about: Following her son’s tragic death, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs has struggled to cope, nor can she bring herself to write. That changes when she gets a new neighbour: Nile Jarvis, a real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.

Why to watch: The Beast in Me should be catnip for millions of Netflix viewers: a dark, twisted (and twisty) psychological thriller with two TV heavyweights, Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys.

Also, it gets a bonus point for Brittany Snow, who had a fan-favourite role in The Hunting Wives earlier this year.

Stranger Things season 5 (volume 1)

  • Genre: Sci-fi, Horror
  • Release date: November 26, 2025
  • Cast: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo
  • Creator: The Duffer Brothers
  • Length: 4 episodes (volume 2 and 3 releasing on December 25 and 31)

What it’s about: Four years after season 4, everyone has one goal: finding and killing Vecna. However, he’s vanished, and their efforts are complicated by Hawkins being placed under quarantine and the government intensifying its hunt for Eleven. A final battle looms on the horizon – but will they win this time?

Why to watch: If you’re not excited for Stranger Things season 5… why? It has a fair claim to the biggest final season of any TV show this century. If you’re not part of that excitement, prepare to feel serious FOMO until the end of the year.

Yes, it’s taken way too long to come out. Yes, the fact that it has been split into three parts (with the next two arriving at Christmas and New Year) is frustrating.

But, as soon as the glow of the logo renders your room in neon red, you know it’ll all feel worth it. It’s the must-watch event of the year: catch up before it’s too late.
