'So cringe' MAFS Australia fans call for Intimacy Week to be scrapped after Rebecca and Rachel are brutally snubbed by their husbands
Some scenes were tough to watch...MAFS Australia 2026’s Intimacy Week is here and it has already brought quite a lot of uncomfortable scenes. Particularly for couples Rachel and Steven, and Rebecca and Steve.
It’s one of the cringiest weeks in the show, as Intimacy Week sees each couple grow closer. And for the first task, each of the brides got to tell their husband their biggest fantasy – and live it out with them.
For some, they kept things quite tame, not wanting to do too much to soon. But for two couples in particular, things didn’t go the way they had hoped.

What happened on Intimacy Week on MAFS Australia?
During Tuesday night’s episode of MAFS, Intimacy Week kicked off with a bang.
Each bride got to tell their husband what their biggest fantasy is, and get then experience it with them.
In extremely awkward scenes, Rachel explained that her biggest desire is to have Steven kiss her like he actually wants to, and not “how someone would kiss their mum”.
In a Love Actually inspired scene, Rachel had written on cards and got Steven to read them out loud, while she was blindfolded.
The last card asked for him to kiss her and make her “feel something”.

Unfortunately though, Steven told her he couldn’t do that. He explained: “I could kiss you Rachel. But I don’t think it would make you feel something.”
Heartbroken, Rachel wanted him to elaborate, and he explained he wasn’t sure if the romantic spark was there between them.
They weren’t the only couple who experienced a setback, as Rebecca also faced rejection from Steve, who wasn’t impressed that she wanted to dress up for him.

Fans ‘switching off’ from the show
But fans of the show were left disturbed by the uncomfortable scenes. And many actually decided they would skip this week completely, as it’s too awkward to watch.
Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: “Unfortunately will be skipping this week as I get really icked out by it.”
Another agreed: “Intimacy Week is so cringe. ‘We’ve shoehorned two randoms together and now we’re going to try and get them to shag’. So cringe.”
“Genuinely! Like, I don’t have any issues with sex on TV. I wish we were more chill about sex and romance in media as much as we’re cool with action and killing characters. But man, I can’t help but cringe and feel so awkward watching intimacy week.”
While it brought uncomfortable scenes for Rachel and Rebecca, the first instalment of Intimacy Week actually seemed to bring a few other couples closer.
Mel arranged for herself and Luke to take part in a mini golf course, so they could try to have fun together, after a week of upset. And surprisingly, they seemed to get on great.
But with Intimacy Week set to continue, spoilers from the episodes after they aired in Australia confirms things are about to kick off dramatically.
