MAFS Australia: Luke’s heartbroken sisters admit it was ‘incredibly tough’ watching him struggle with Mel’s ‘cold shoulder’ treatment

Ever since their wedding episode, Mel has been basically ignoring Luke, and making it very clear that she isn’t interested in him. Things got so bad for him that he even had to leave their apartment for a night to go spend time somewhere else.
However, while he was away, his sisters made some comments online, which ultimately got back to Mel. And things got even worse between them. Since the show has been airing in Australia, Luke’s sisters have spoken out about the treatment he faced.
What comments did Luke’s sisters say about Mel?
During tonight’s episode (March 19) Mel confronts Luke about his sisters comments, even stating that he makes her life “hell”.
She said: “There were some comments made on social media from Luke’s friends and family that really hurt my feelings. They were comments about my personality and my character. I’m actually shocked.
“Luke’s sisters left some comments saying I’ve got a hard-resting [bleep] face, that I’m not genuine and I don’t deserve someone like Luke. I thought these comments aren’t out of nowhere. These comments would’ve been from what Luke has been telling them about me.”
Mel explained what “really hurt” about the comments is that Luke tried to tell her on numerous occasions that he is “positive and nice”.
After Luke arrived back at the apartment, the pair sat down to discuss what was said.

Mel said to him: “There’s some things I want to talk to you about. It’s kind of hard. It really hurt me, the comments made by your friends and family on the social media post. I felt like the comments are because of what you would’ve told them about me.”
However, Luke told Mel that he “woke up and saw the comments” and “never wanted those things to be said”. While he was instantly apologetic, Mel remained distant.

Since the show began airing, fans have finally been getting to see what sparked the comments from Luke’s sisters. Two of them have actually gone on to do interviews, speaking about how they found the whole experience.
Luke himself has been open about the “PTSD” and “trauma” the experience with Mel has left him with. And Mel has since apologised for some of her comments.
A snippet of an interview from two of Luke’s sisters was posted onto TikTok, and it seems they still feel the same way.
In the clip, they were asked how they felt watching the experiment back, as Luke had described it as a “struggle”.
Olivia said: “We knew that he was struggling. That is obviously hard to hear. But, I think it’s a different thing hearing it and seeing it. It’s been incredibly tough for me to watch. And I think I can speak on behalf of all of our family and friends really.”
Luke’s other sister, Steph, added: “Luke put so much effort into the situation that he was in. He really gave it his all and he made sure to maintain positivity as much as he could. He really wanted it to work. It was such a big build up for him. He was ready to find the one, and was looking for love.”
Olivia agreed: “Luke was giving a lot more than he was receiving. There were a few cold shoulders. I hoped I was wrong but it was what I was seeing.”
