ITV has confirmed there are no new plans to bring back game show You Bet! for a new series.

The reboot of the ’90s cult classic was brought back to screens in 2024 and saw Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby co-host. Although Holly didn’t end up returning to co-host You Bet! On Tour, Stephen remained.

However, fans hoping for a new series of You Bet! will be disappointed as ITV has confirmed there are no plans for a new series.

You Bet! not returning for another series

Since You Bet was rebooted in 2024, it quickly became a hit with fans. Following up on the success of the first series, a second, You Bet! On Tour aired last year.

However, recently The Sun reported ITV is not bringing back You Bet for a new series – something the channel has confirmed.

An ITV spokesperson said: “You Bet! returned to ITV in 2024 with a peak overnight audience of 4.4m. Both You Bet! and You Bet! On Tour are available to watch on ITVX.”

Nonetheless, despite the show’s success the spokesperson added: “There are currently no plans for a new series of You Bet! On Tour.”

You Bet! fans left gutted

It’s fair to say the news of You Bet! not returning has left plenty of fans disappointed. On X, one person said: ‘Shame. I actually enjoyed it but totally get why it detracted so many.”

Referring to other ITV gameshow Jeopardy also reportedly not returning, a second added: “Another ITV show axed! That’s 2 this week, going well I see.”

A third also declared: “Nooooooo.”

Despite You Bet! not returning to screens, Stephen remains more booked than ever on ITV. As well as Deal or No Deal and Catchphrase, he recently appeared in a travelogue show with Ant & Dec called Accidental Tourist.

The one-hour programme saw the presenting duo send their good friend Stephen on a trip to Korea for the first time, where he had to face his fears and overcome them.

From raw seafood and extreme acupuncture to a fishing trip with some fearless freediving ‘mermaids’ and a naked Korean massage, Stephen was pushed to his limits.
