Things are about to go bump in the night...

Strictly Come Dancing fans are in for a treat (and a trick or two) this weekend with the professionals’ Monsters’ Ball dance.

As well as their own Halloween performances in their celebrity couples, the pros will take to the floor in a group performance guaranteed to send chills down our spines.

In the Monsters’ Ball-themed dance, viewers will see a scarier side to our pros – who will be donning masks, face paint and wigs  -as they bring something spooktacular to the dancefloor.

But what can we expect from the scary special this Saturday night? Here’s what we know so far.

Strictly Come Dancing: First look at Halloween group dance

A brief teaser has been posted on Strictly Come Dancing’s Instagram page, which gives us our first glimpse at Saturday night’s shenanigans.

The creepy trailer sees Karen Hauer donning a ghostly white wig and ornate crown, as well as an intricate black sequinned dress. Half her face has been painted to resemble a skull, as she casts a regal look fitting for the Queen of the Undead.

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey is partnered with Karen. The Olympic sprinter and Gladiator – aka Nitro – will be dancing an American Smooth this Saturday. Their chosen track is Mystical Magical by Benson Boone.

Also in the clip, other professional dancers donned top-hats, suits and long all with a slightly gothic twist, to be in-keeping with the Monsters’ Ball theme.

Other pros we catch sight of in this cabaret of horrors include Johannes Radebe, who dons cat ears and a black bodysuit. Johannes, who is paired with actress Alex Kingston, is doing a saucy salsa to Mousse T’s ‘Horny’ on the night. A devilish-themed duo, perhaps?

Viewers will also be pleased to see Gorka Marquez; while the popular pro isn’t taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this series, he did partake in the show’s pre-recorded group performances.

The eagle-eyed among us will spot the 35-year-old in a raggedy black tuxedo, with his face painting in a similar style to Karen’s.

Describing the fun, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman said in a voiceover: “Our celebrities will have some tricks up their sleeves. And, there’s a treat in the ballroom as our pro-dancers perform a spectacular Monsters’ Ball.”

Strictly Come Dancing: Halloween week dances and songs

Earlier this week (29 October), the Halloween songs and performances were confirmed by the Strictly team – and we’re likely to see a thrilling show.

Highlights to look forward to include Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola, who sailed through Icons Week. Dancing a tango to Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra, Ellie takes the role of the magician, with Vito being the bunny who jumps out of her hat.

Elsewhere, George Clarke and Katya Jones are doing a Cha-cha-cha to Charli XCX’s Apple.

Meanwhile, drag queen (and Claudia’s replacement) La Voix will be dancing a Paso Doble. Parntered with Aljaž Škorjanec the pair will take on Beethoven’s 5th.

What happened during Icons Week?

It was one of the most shocking weeks in Strictly history. Icons Week finished with Lewis Cope and Katya Jones at the top of the Strictly leaderboard. The pair ended the night with 34 points for their Quickstep.

However, despite coming in second with 33 points, Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin found themselves in dance-off. Fingers crossed their Viennese Waltz to Everybody Loves an Outlaw’s  I See Red proves more of a hit with viewers.

Meanwhile, George Clarke and Alexis Warr were bottom of the leaderboard in Saturday night’s show. The pair did a Jive and social media star George channelled Harry Styles. They got 27 marks from the judges. Yet, they dodged the dreaded dance-off thanks the the viewer vote.

Who left Strictly Come Dancing last week?

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lauren Oakley failed to impress the judges during the dance-off. Despite scoring the comfortable 30, the pair were eliminated.

Speaking to Fleur East on Monday’s (October 27) Strictly: It Takes Two, Jimmy admitted he was quite sad to be leaving.

He said: “Oh, I am gutted. I am really. I was just getting into it. And I just think I had more to give. I think I was getting better and better. I definitely didn’t hit my peak yet.”
