Strictly Come Dancing: First look at Week 3 Wicked group dance as show welcomes Cynthia Erivo
Minecraft fans can also expect a special treat!
Strictly Come Dancing fans are in for a real treat for Movie Week – as here’s a first look at the pro dancers’ Wicked routine.
The sneak peek comes ahead of Wicked star Cynthia Erivo’s appearance on the show as Strictly first guest mentor.
Last week saw a never-before performed stunt take place on the BBC dancing competition from the pros. Now, this week’s professional routine will pay homage to Wicked. Here’s what we know.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Week 3 Wicked group dance
In newly-released first look photos, viewers will see the Strictly Come Dancing professionals take on a Wicked-inspired dancing extravaganza.
With Wicked: For Good set to hit cinemas next month, the pros are paired off and each girl is given the opportunity to unleash her very own Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba.
Their males counterparts will be bringing their own special take to Elphaba’s love interest, Fiyero, in the routine.
Professional dancer Katya Jones explains on the Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page.”This routine is certainly driven by this forbidden love. Two characters expressing that love for each other for the very first time. The costumes are bigger, greener, and the storytelling is what’s going to keep you on the edge of your seats.”
And the mesmerising performance is not without its own risks, with a synchronised lift set to be the centrepiece of the dance.
Katya’s co-star, Amy Dowden, adds: “For us to get [the move] together is very difficult.
The pros really will be feeling the pressure, as Wicked star Cynthia Erivo will be watching. The 38-year-old Hollywood star – born and raised in London – has been on hand this week to help each celebrity pairing deliver a blockbuster performance.
When is the Strictly Come Dancing Wicked dance?
You can catch the professionals performing their Wicked-inspired dance in the Saturday night episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
All the Movie Week action starts on BBC One on October 11 far 6.05pm. The show will also feature the remaining 14 celebrity couples and their Movie Week routines. Expect some Barbie Movie, The Great Gatsby and many more!
Strictly Come Dancing: Minecraft dance
Hold onto your hats, as the move magic doesn’t end there. The professionals will be doing an additional routine in Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing: The Results show.
Our cast of professional dancers will also perform a unique number inspired by the box office hit Minecraft. The wildly popular computer game was adapted for the big screen earlier this year.
Strictly says: “Our professionals transport us to the Minecraft universe and world-renowned pianist, Lang Lang performs a Disney classic.”
However, there will be no promised sequel for one couple after Movie Night. The stars will all learn their fate following the public vote and the weekly dance-off.
