Strictly viewers complain over judges' Halloween costumes: 'Had all the budget!'
Strictly spooky season is here once again!The Strictly Come Dancing judges got into the full Halloween spirit tonight with their costumes, but some viewers unfortunately took issue with the looks.
Each year, the judges never disappoint when it comes to their Halloween looks (let’s not forget Anton and Craig dressed as the Grady twins from The Shining last year!).
However, on Saturday’s live show (November 1), some viewers complained about the amount of effort put into the judges’ looks compared to the contestants.
Strictly judges wow in Halloween costumes
The four judges – Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse – donned over the top wigs and outfits as they fully got into the spooky spirit.
They also sported some extravagant Halloween makeup looks, pulling their whole looks together.
However, compared to the contestants’ outfits, some viewers thought all of the show’s budget went on the judges’ costumes!
One person complained on X: “Judges had all the costume budget, the contestants look poor once again. Halloween used to be so good,” followed by a sad face emoji.
Another wrote: “Looks like most of the budget has gone on the judges’ costumes thus year!”
Someone else said: “So the Halloween wardrobe/makeup budget went on the judges.”
Others were obsessed with the looks this year as one person said: “The judges look incredible. I love Halloween week!”
Another fan gushed: “The judges costumes for Halloween are fabulous.”
It wasn’t just the judges who wowed viewers watching from home. Others were stunned by hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Judges had all the costume budget, the contestants look poor once again.
Tess wore a stunning strapless black mini dress, with a matching collar accessory. Claudia, meanwhile, wore a long-sleeved, high-neck black mini dress.
One viewer gushed on X: “Claudia and Tess look fab.”
Another commented: “Tess and Claudia’s black velvet is perfect too. Very winter, very Halloween.”

Others were feeling emotional as they remembered that this will be Claudia and Tess’ final Halloween special on Strictly.
The duo announced recently that they will leave the show after this year’s series.
On the show last week, Claudia said: “We want to thank you for your beautiful messages. We’ve got another eight weeks on this incredible show and a Strictly champion to crown.”
Tess added: “And we cannot wait to spend the rest of the series with you, with our amazing couples, and of course, with these four,” as she introduced the judges.
