Strictly Come Dancing's Vicky Pattinson and Kai Widdrington have 'real chemistry', says former pro

Vincent tells ED! Vicky has 'shown consistency'

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Vincent Simone has been keeping a close eye on this year’s competition – and he reckons Vicky Pattison could be the one to watch.

The former pro, who danced on the BBC show from 2006 to 2012, never quite managed to lift the Glitterball Trophy himself, though he came close more than once.

Vincent finished as runner-up in series six with S Club star Rachel Stevens and also made it to fourth place with EastEnders favourite Louisa Lytton and Tracy Beaker actor Dani Harmer. With his track record, it’s safe to say he knows a serious contender when he sees one.

Strictly star Vicky Pattison is ‘one to watch’

With just eight contestants left in the 2025 series, Vincent has high hopes for former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington.

Last Saturday (November 8), the pair topped the leaderboard following their Tango to The Fate of Ophelia by Taylor Swift.

Judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke gave the pair a perfect score of 10. Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood awarded them a 9.

Speaking to our sister site Entertainment Daily, Vincent said: “Vicky and Kai absolutely have a chance this year. They’ve been improving every single week and now they’re proving they can compete with the frontrunners.”

He continued that the duo have been consistent throughout the show and recognises “real chemistry” between them. He added they are now the “ones to watch, and dark horses for the trophy”.

Vicky was all fired up after the Tango

Before being saved by the public once again, Vicky was asked about her performance by Claudia Winkleman.

Claudia asked: “You have told me all week, which I loved, “I have to be angry”. You are the least angry person I think I’ve ever met. How did you do it?”

Vicky replied: “I’m all candyfloss and kittens normally, mate. The Tango is this passionate, fiery, angry dance, all about a woman scorned and feminine rage, and actually being quite mad at her fella.

“I have got 20 years experience of that, so I just tapped into that.”

She then joked about wanting to ‘burn her bra’ after the dance.

On Saturday (November 15), Vicky and Kai will perform a jive to Sound of the Underground by Girls Aloud.
