Strictly pro dancer Kai Widdrington leapt to the defence of his celeb partner Vicky Pattison after a brutal remark from Craig Revel Horwood.

Kai and Vicky were on the spin-off show It Takes Two last night (Wednesday, October 29) when they hit back at the long-time Strictly judge.

What did Craig Revel Horwood say about Vicky Pattison?

Earlier this week, Craig appeared on It Takes Two to discuss the remaining couples in the competition.

Speaking about Vicky, Craig said, “When she first started, I had no real hope for her, I’ve got to be honest.

“Yeah, I went, ‘this is going to be a disaster’,” he then continued.

“And actually, it wasn’t. She is learning more and more. And with her confidence growing like this, it was in fruition there [during her couple’s choice dance]. I thought it really, really suited her, and it was something she absolutely loved.

“Now she needs to learn to love every single genre as much as she loved that genre.”

It wasn’t the only brutal comment from Craig that night. He also branded Alex Kingston’s performance as “dull”.

Last night, Kai addressed Craig’s comments about Vicky during his appearance on It Takes Two.

“Vicky’s a fighter. Craig was on earlier in the week, and we may have had a little listen to what he said,” he told Janette Manrara.

“It was quite funny that he said that he saw no hope for Vicky at the beginning. Strictly is a marathon not a sprint, and we’re progressing each week,” he then continued.

“She’s improving every week, and I couldn’t be prouder. Second on the leaderboard, a message from Cheryl. It was just so much fun that dance.”

Vicky would ‘never forgive’ herself if battle with nerves ruined time on show

During her appearance on It Takes Two last week, Vicky opened up about her battle with nerves.

“Honestly, I know everyone’s probably really bored with that narrative, of us being nervous…Listen, nobody more than me wishes that I was a better performer or calm person or cool under pressure, because this has been one of my dreams!” she said.

“I do think I’m making some improvements, Janette, but I’ve wanted to do Strictly for years,” she then continued.

“I mean, I’ve talked about it being on my vision board; this is a dream come true. And I’d not forgive myself if I look back on this experience and didn’t enjoy it, of letting your nerves get in the way. So it’s been lovely for me to sort of feel like I’m turning a corner, almost,” she then added.
