The Apprentice candidate hits out at 'undeserved' episode 3 firing and says this person should have been fired: 'There's no argument'

"I did take the bullet in the boardroom"

The Apprentice just got rid of another candidate – and, after leaving the process, they’ve hit out at their “unfair” sacking.

In tonight’s episode of The Apprentice, Lord Sugar tasked the remaining candidates with creating dishes to serve to the public and canapes for corporate clients. One side had 25kg of chicken, while the other had the same weight of eggs.

Both teams had issues, whether it was making chicken skewers for a team that specifically said they didn’t want skewers, boiled eggs on a stick, or pies that wouldn’t sell in Greenwich Market.

However, there was a clear loser by the end – and this candidate “took the bullet” for the team’s mistakes.

Tanmay Hingorani says Apprentice firing was ‘unfair’

The egg team lost, with Tanmay, Megan and Carrington returning to the boarding room in the firing line.

Tanmay and Megan were responsible for the team’s biggest mistake. After Karishma opened the negotiation with the corporate client at £27 per head, Megan suddenly dropped their offer to £12.

“I shook the hand on £11.80 trying to salvage it,” Tanmay said.

“I did take the bullet in the boardroom and I do think it was unfair. But you win some and you lose some and I can’t do much about it now.”

In Tanmay’s eyes, he didn’t deserve to be fired.

“I think at the time, sitting in the boardroom, it was a lot closer and I remember in the moment thinking it could probably go either way between myself, Megan and Carrington,” he continued.

“You could have even put an argument forward for Karishma and Andrea but in the boardroom, I was there, and I tried to keep composed but I do think it was unfair.”

Megan was the one who dropped the team’s offer to £12. There’s no way they’d have been able to get anywhere near £20 after that – that’s why Tanmay got the client to agree to £11.80, as they could have tried to get the canapes for even less money.

“Looking back, it should have been Megan,” Tanmay said when asked who should have got the sack.

“I don’t think there is even an argument for it to have been anyone else. Maybe Karishma or Andrea but Megan makes the most sense.”

Tanmay is the fourth candidate to be fired in this series of The Apprentice.

Nikki Jetha and Georgina Newton were both sacked in week one, with Marcus Donkoh on the other end of Sugar’s finger in week two.
