Claudia Winkleman has made it clear to the Celebrity Traitors  that there will be “no special treatment” for them in the Highlands – and these rules prove she wasn’t kidding!

Here are some of the major rules the cast have to stick to, from a limit on drinking to “supervised” smoking breaks…

Rules The Celebrity Traitors stars have to follow

According to experts at Haypp, the rules are the same as the civilian version of the show. This means celebrity contestants aren’t allowed access to their phones during filming.

A “production phone” is believed to be available for the occasional phone call home. However, players are supervised by production staff throughout the call. TV remotes are also reportedly banned for contestants. This is to prevent any external information from influencing the game.

This policy is to ensure the integrity of the game remains. Access to the internet – to ensure that spoilers don’t slip out or to enable strategic communication outside of filming – is also prohibited.

Drinking limit placed on contestants

Like the civilian version of the show, there is apparently a drinking limit in place, too. The celebrities are allowed to drink alcohol, but it is limited to two drinks per night.

Former civilian contestants have revealed that they were only allowed one drink at the castle. However, they were allowed another when they returned to the hotel later that night. The drinking limits are in place for obvious reasons – to stop the contestants from getting drunk, revealing secrets, and acting impulsively!

Celebrities who smoke or vape are allowed to do so. But they must be supervised at all times. This is again to ensure the game’s integrity.

Rules on Ardross Castle

Though the Celebrity Traitors is set in the enormous grounds of Ardross Castle, that doesn’t mean the stars can go where they like.

It isn’t fully open to the public, and some parts of the castle itself are uninhabitable. During filming, only certain parts of the castle are used. Celebrities are strategically placed in areas where they won’t run into each other, it has been claimed.

The final, and most important rule, is that the celebrities all have to sign an NDA – a non disclosure agreement – to take part in the BBC show. This is to ensure that absolutely no details, including the identities of the Traitors, the outcome of the missions or any other surprises are ruined and leaked.

Breaching an NDA in general could have very dire consequences and could even lead to a lawsuit. Not worth the risk for a few spoilers!
