ITV's The Chase hit with huge complaints as viewers declare 'worst episode ever'
'Had enough of this now!'The Chase was hit with complaints after players’ decisions rubbed viewers the wrong way last night.
On Thursday evening (February 5), host Bradley Walsh returned and welcomed four new players — Gordon, Miriam, Rachel and Selwyn — who all went head-to-head with Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess.

The Chase last night
First to step up was Gordon, who got the team off to a solid start, securing a place in the final chase with £6,000.
Miriam followed, but had a tougher time in the cash builder, managing just one correct answer. At the table, Anne tested her with a high offer of £40,000 and a low option of just £1.
Keen to play it safe, Miriam chose the lower amount — a decision Bradley agreed was the right call. She went on to make it through successfully, with the ITV host later noting that bringing back big sums of money “isn’t the point.”
Anne couldn’t resist a pointed remark when it was Rachel’s turn at the table. After managing three correct answers earlier, Miriam encouraged her teammate to take the lower £1,000 offer, saying it had helped calm her nerves.
Rachel instead chose to play for £3,000, prompting The Governess to quip, “At least you won’t be coming back with just a pound,” which led Bradley to jump in and remark: “Miriam, ignore her.”
Viewers thought the tension couldn’t escalate further, but it did when Selwyn stepped up. The police officer turned down the £3,000 offer and opted for the minus amount of £1 instead.
Although he found himself five steps ahead of Anne and only one from safety, a run of wrong answers ultimately cost Selwyn his place in the game.
With £3,033 each on the line, Rachel, Miriam and Gordon managed a combined score of 16. However, unfortunately for the team, Anne was relentless, catching them with 31 seconds still left on the clock.

‘Where are you getting this lot from?!’
With two lower offers taken during the game, viewers were livid and not rooting for the players.
“A [bleep]ing quid?? And minus a pound! #TheChase can [bleep] off, had enough of this [bleep] now!” one user wrote on X.
“Two players taking [low offers] on #TheChase. Where are you getting this lot from?!” another person asked.
“Who goes for £1?” a third remarked.
“That’s got to be the worst #TheChase episode ever… two players going for a total of 0!” a fourth said.
