The Chase viewers fume as show is taken off air by ITV due to the World Cup
It might be a while before we see Bradley and coThe Chase fans were left furious last night (Thursday, June 11) as the hit show was taken off air by ITV.
The popular gameshow, which airs on weekdays from 5pm on ITV1, was nowhere to be seen yesterday evening…

The Chase taken off air by ITV
ITV viewers tuning in to watch The Chase from 5pm yesterday were left sorely disappointed.
The show usually airs Monday through to Friday on ITV1 from 5pm, finishing at 6pm.
However, yesterday, the show had been dropped from ITV schedules in favour of Jeremy Clarkson’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire spin-off, Millionaire Hot Seat.
The episode, which was a repeat, then led into the ITV Regional News at 5.30, before ITV Evening News aired in the earlier slot of 5.45pm. It usually airs from 6.30pm.
Coverage of the 2026 World Cup, which is being co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the USA, began at 6.15 pm.
The World Cup coverage had a knock-on effect on programming last night, meaning ITV News had to be shown 45 minutes earlier. This meant that The Chase had to be removed from schedules, as its episodes are an hour long. Millionaire Hot Seat’s episodes are 30 minutes long.

The Chase fans fume as ITV’s World Cup coverage affects schedules
Fans of the show were left unhappy by the change in programming and took to social media to complain.
“WHERE’S #THECHASE FFS bloody World Cup upsetting me already,” one fan fumed.
“Just to compound a thoroughly miserable day, there is no #TheChase on tonight. FML,” another said.
“What’s this crap?!” a third said of Clarkson’s show.

More bad news for fans
Unfortunately, things don’t look much better for fans of the show next week either.
From 4pm Monday, there will be coverage of the World Cup, running through until 7.30 – meaning no Lingo, Tipping Point, or The Chase that day.
Tuesday will see coverage of the racing cover most of the day, with that beginning from 1.30pm and running through until 6pm.
Racing will dominate the schedule on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week too. You may need to wait a while to watch The Chase live on ITV, fans!
The Chase is available to stream on ITVX now.
