The Chase star Shaun Wallace faces backlash after making 'dig' at viewers following 'awful' episode
Ouch!The Chase viewers hit back at Shaun Wallace yesterday (March 2) after he made a direct dig at them.
During Monday evening’s show, host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants — Tom, Linda, Chris and Lucy — to face Shaun, also known as The Dark Destroyer.
It was bad news for Linda and Chris as they failed to make the Final Chase. However, Tom and Lucy were in for a shot after they were able to secure a total of £8k between them.

For their final round, Tom and Lucy only managed to answer eight questions correctly.
Bradley didn’t appear too confident, remaining silent but pulling a face at them. Lucy admitted she didn’t think she “stood a chance”.
Meanwhile, Bradley defended them, stating: “To be fair, there were a lot of tough questions in there.”
When he brought Shaun back in, he also came to Tom and Lucy’s defense and hit back at the show’s “critics”.
“It always takes courage to stand there,” he said while pointing at the players, adding: “So, to all the critics who are at home sitting on their sofa, you tell them to stay there! Well done!”

Tom and Lucy thanked Shaun for his support. However, it didn’t take long for Shaun to win the game. With 1 minute and 12 seconds left on the clock, he answered all his questions correctly.
“It is what it is!” Lucy said before Shaun defended them again: “You far from disgraced yourselves. You played really really well! As I told you before, it takes courage to stand there, so well done!”
‘That’s an hour I’ll never get back’
It seems the “critics” watching at home weren’t too impressed with Shaun’s remark and took to social media to fire back.
“I take your point Shaun but they were still [bleep],” one user wrote on X.
“Sorry Shaun, we can criticise as there’s no show without viewers. That’s an hour I’ll never get back,” another person shared.
“Shut it Shaun, I will sit here and continue to criticise thanks!” a third expressed.
“#TheChase has been awful recently,” a fourth said.
