The Masked Singer 2026 final: Lionfish, Snail and Pufferfish make big return for surprise duets

Fans were thrilled to see the show favourites back

The Masked Singer welcomed back three popular past contestants for this year’s grand final as Conkers, Toastie and Moth went head-to-head.

Lionfish, Snail and Pufferfish all returned to the stage tonight to duet with the 2026 finalists.

It was a battle of the vocals between Toastie and 2025 Masked Singer winner Pufferfish, while Conkers and Snail were paired together.

Moth and Lionfish also duetted – and their costumes couldn’t have been a more perfect match!

But can you remember who they are?

The Masked Singer 2026 final: Samantha Barks return

Avid Masked Singer fans will have recalled instantly who performed on the show as Pufferfish, Snail and Lionfish.

But in case you need a reminder, Pufferfish is last year’s champion, Samantha Barks.

Samantha was also invited back tonight to appear as the last guest judge of the series, alongside Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Mo Gilligan.

And in a real treat for viewers, she did her own solo performance as herself to open the show – not as a giant fish! Samantha showed off her powerhouse vocals with her rendition of KPop Demon Hunters’ Golden while wearing a slinky metallic dress.

Samantha – aka Pufferfish – sang the Eurythmics’ Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves with Toastie and it was, well, incredible!

Andrea Corr returned to her elaborate Snail costume to perform with Conker. It’s fair to say the Corrs star slightly out-sung him..! They performed I Had the Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing.

Meanwhile, Will Young also made his comeback as Lionfish. Pop star Will only made it to episode 3 of the 2022 series. He was eliminated following a sing-off with Firework (actress Jaime Winstone).

They sang the Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga duet, Die with a Smile. Will also used his unmasking as a chance to show off his very dramatic new haircut!

Masked Singer fans welcome comebacks

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the final duets on X.

Referring to Conkers and Andrea, one fan said: “Snail is out-singing him!” Another mused: “Shhh Conker, lemme just listen to Andrea Corr!”

Will and Moth’s duet received much better reviews. One viewer gushed: “Oh this is a beautiful duet between Moth and Will Young!”

Someone else echoed this, saying: “This duet is just beautiful!”

But the duet of the night went to Toastie and Samantha. It was a total diva-off.

“What a powerful duet!” one person said on X. Another wrote: “What a duet. Pufferfish and Toastie!”

It was good to see them back!
