The Traitors 2026 fans baffled by ‘mystery player’ as they ask: 'Where did he come from?'
Has someone new entered Ardross Castle? The Traitors might now be in full swing but fans have been left scratching their heads over a ‘mystery’ player.
Viewers of the BBC show have admitted they are baffled after spotting someone in Ardross Castle that they have not seen before.
Three episodes of the brand new series have already aired.

But it appears fans are still convinced a new man has slipped into the game after he was spotted on camera.
The Traitors 2026: Fans spot ‘mystery’ man
Suspicions over the man came after he headed into The Traitors’ ‘diary room’ to have a chat with the camera.
One viewer shared a screen shot of the moment on X and was met with a flurry of comments from confused fans.
The chap had written: “I swear I’ve not seen this man in the previous 2 episodes. Where did he come from?!”
Replying, one fan said: “There is no way this screenshot is real. I have never seen this man before!” Another added: “I said the same. WHO IS HE?!”
A third then agreed: “Same thought!” And someone else was so perplexed that they suggested the image had been created with AI.
So who is he?
Who is the ‘mystery’ player?
The gentleman the viewers were referring to is actually Adam, who is one of this year’s 22 contestants. He arrived at the castle on Day 1, just like his fellow competitors, and was heard claiming to be a “ghost hunter”.
Adam is a 34-year-old builder from Essex and, as far as we know, is a Faithful. There is a Secret Traitor in the castle, so time will tell if it turns out to be him.
The confusion appears to have arisen after Adam removed a hat. He had worn his backwards baseball cap in the first two episodes of the series, which seems to be why fans didn’t then recognise him.
Explaining what had happened, one canny viewer said: “He had a hat on in the last episode.” Another added: “He was wearing a hat previously!”
The original poster has since claimed to have “booked an appointment at Specsavers”.

Who is Adam from The Traitors?
It is surprising that Traitors viewers have not yet seen much of Adam, as he claims to be very loud and “dramatic”.
Before heading into the castle, he said: “I’m a very outspoken, dramatic sort of person. I speak my mind completely like there’s no filter there.
“Obviously, I do think of people’s feelings before I speak! I always want to win, and I like to give myself a challenge.”
Adam added: “When I saw this advertised, me and my missus had watched the first couple of series, and I thought, ‘I can do that standing on my head’.”
That’s a bold claim, isn’t it?!
