The Traitors’ Rachel Duffy has given fans a glimpse at her ‘inspirational’ mum after vowing to win this year’s series for her.

Rachel, 42, had previously revealed that she is desperate to triumph on the BBC show for her poorly mother Anne.

Ahead of her stint in The Traitors, Rachel said she would use any winnings to treat Anne to a big holiday.

“I would make memories with the most important people in my life,” Rachel explained.

“My mum has dementia, and she wants to go on a holiday as she used to go on holidays all the time before my dad passed. That’s all she wants.

“I just want to create memories with her whilst I’m still lucky enough to have her, and to create memories with my kids, because they just “love their nanny.”

Rachel commented: “Words of wisdom from my wee mummy Anne who is not only my motivation on The Traitors but my inspiration in real life.

“Mummy was just 47 when she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s (4 years older than I am now) and now faces dementia but still amazes me and my family every single day.

“Everything she has done for me and my four siblings is nothing short of incredible. Sharing caring responsibilities over the years for her has been a privilege and we are so proud to call her our mum.

“She wanted to show off her T-shirt – so say hi and be kind or I might just murder you.”

Who is Rachel Duffy?

Rachel is one of 22 contestants selected for the latest series of The Traitors, which launched on New Year’s Day.

During the very first Round Table, Claudia chose Rachel as a Traitor. She also picked cyber security consultant Stephen and barrister Hugo, although Hugo has since been Banished.

However, the game quickly shifted when they were told there is a fourth Secret Traitor operating in the shadows. They have no idea who he or she is.

Rachel appeared visibly frustrated by the twist, particularly as the Secret Traitor ultimately controls who gets murdered in the game.

Professionally, Rachel works as head of marketing and communications for charity organisation Clanrye Group.

But the mum-of-three said: “I’m going to say that I work in marketing, which is true. But it’s leaving out the fact that I do strategic communications across Northern Ireland on a daily basis.”

“I don’t want them to know that speaking to people and getting my point across is very easy for me.”
