5 things that didn't make sense in Emmerdale this week including Joe's kidney plot, Ruby's beachwear and football
Just when you thought Joe Tate's scheme couldn't get any more ridiculous...Emmerdale this week has once again proved life in the Yorkshire Dales is nothing short of dramatic – if a little far-fetched at times. Yes, we’re looking at you Joe Tate!
Despite delivering another week of dramatic storylines, there have also been a few things that haven’t added up. So what didn’t make sense in Emmerdale this week?

1. Joe’s entire kidney plot (again!)
Where to start? NOTHING about this whole storyline makes sense and, honestly, it hasn’t really from the start.
Joe needs a kidney. He is not going on the transplant list or even asking his close relatives if they’ll consider donating. Oh no, Joe Tate is too important for that. He instead planned to steal one from his half-uncle Caleb. Because that makes sense.
He tried to get Caleb drugged (it didn’t work) so then had him stabbed – where does he find these dodgy people willing to do stuff like this?!
Caleb was then transported to a private clinic where Dr Crowley, who is clearly a VERY good doctor, managed to save his life while also performing the kidney transplant Joe needed.
It was all neatly tied up in a bow when Caleb was then transported to Hotton General and told he’d lost his kidney due to the stabbing. All sorted then.
Except it’s not, because the whole thing doesn’t make sense. How did the stab wound get in the right place to make it seem like Caleb would suffer kidney damage? How did Dr Crowley perform both those surgeries and save both those lives? How did they manage to find enough nurses and an anaesthetist to also help – are they on Joe’s payroll too? How much money does Joe actually have?!
It’s all nonsense if you ask us. And Kidney Research UK has also hit out at the story too. So let’s just hope Emmerdale turn this one around. Although quite how we get past organ harvesting and a planned stabbed, we’re not sure. But then again, Amy and Kerry did get away with killing Frank for all these years, so we’re sure Emmerdale will come up with something.

2. Chas’ complete hatred for Ella in Emmerdale this week
Is it just us or has this come out of nowhere? Chas, Ella and Liam were bumbling along quite nicely in the village together. Sure, it was a bit awkward because Ella still loves Liam and Liam loves Chas, but there was none of this anomisity. And then suddenly, Chas positively hates Ella.
Over the last few weeks she has been awful to her for no apparent reason. Ella had been minding her own business until now, as far as we could tell, and then a drink was spilled and Chas totally lost it. She hasn’t quite unlost it since.
Where has it come from? Unless it’s all happened off-screen, much like plenty of other plots in Emmerdale right now. It feels very contrived to build up to an exit for Ella, but honestly Chas isn’t coming across as the injured party here. Far from it. Which makes us super suspicious of just what game she’s playing. And we haven’t forgetten about you, John Sugden, either…

3. Ruby’s beachwear
Okay, so they didn’t actually make it to the coast, what will Caleb being stabbed and all, and it is March, so would probs be a bit chilly. BUT, what on earth was Ruby wearing? Sure her white, full-length tight dress was gorgeous and it looked even more fabulous on her. But why was she wearing that to go to the seaside?! Not exactly beach walking attire, was it?

4. Dawn’s glam makeover – but she’s still wearing those hoodies!
Dawn obviously realised Joe Tate is quite the handsome man and her mum bun (nothing wrong with a mum bun, by the way, we all wear them from time to time) might not keep him interested for much longer. She straightened and styled her hair, did minimal, but striking make-up and looked a knockout.
Until you got past her neck.
Then she was still dressed in her stinky hoodies. Seriously, Emmerdale are doing her so dirty with her clothes.

5. Emmerdale schedule changed again this week – why won’t ITV just put football on ITV2?
So this one’s not directly related to the actual storylines, but it’s still bugging us all the same. People of the UK love football (not all of us), but they also love their soaps (again, not everybody), so why do we have to lose one to make way for the other?
ITV has three other channels – ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4. Why not put the football on one of those? There’ll all free to view so no problems there and if it’s football people will tune in regardless of the channel it’s on.
And if they really don’t want to sacrifice football’s ratings to another channel, move Emmerdale there on those nights instead. EastEnders goes out on BBC2 during Wimbledon, why not move Emmerdale rather than cancelling it?
It’s just plain silly if you ask us.
