Tip Toe soundtrack: Every song and its big connection to The Traitors
Get your playlist ready!
Tip Toe, Russell T Davies’ dark new Channel 4 drama, boasts another strong soundtrack – and, unless you’re a massive TV fan, you may have missed its link to The Traitors.
Queer as Folk featured a mix of all-time, intact classics like ‘It’s Raining Men’ and club remixes of songs like ‘Atomic’. It’s a Sin, Davies’ ’80s AIDS drama, featured its titular pop hit plus a playlist-worthy list of songs.
We’re only two episodes into Tip Toe, but its music is already a defining aspect. Its jaunty score contrasts some of its more… troubling scenes, and there’s one ‘Unholy’, bonkers montage.
If you want to keep tabs on the Tip Toe soundtrack, you’re in the right place.

How the Tip Toe soundtrack connects to The Traitors
Its licensed songs aside, Tip Toe features a score composed by Sam Watts.
Watts, a 44-year-old British-Canadian composer, got their start on the likes of Hitch, Being Human, and Panorama. At the age of 24, they composed their first solo TV show: The Sarah Jane Adventures.
That was the beginning of a working relationship with Davies. “I’d always been a Doctor Who fan, so I sent Russell a showreel and a note which said something like: ‘I’m not going to kiss your ass, but you make great TV and I’d love to work with you,'” they told PRS.

Their biggest achievement to date (aside from their great work on Tip Toe, of course) is The Traitors. Given how iconic the series has become, Watts’ impact on its tone shouldn’t be understated.
“I spent a few hours on a Saturday morning working on a demo, then sent it over saying, ‘This is really rough, but will give you an idea of what I’m thinking.’ They loved it, and it became The Traitors theme,” they explained.
“They loved the Game of Thrones music, which is an epic score. I listened to it and asked myself what they liked about it. It’s got this driving, repetitive feel; it’s primal; there’s a lot of percussion and aggression. I then sat at the piano and tried to create my own version of that emotion.”
Watts reunited with Davies for the Doctor Who: Tales of the TARDIS, but Tip Toe is easily among their most substantial dramatic credits.
