Traitors star Amanda tipped to be banished next as she's left bruised by Hugo's 'parting shot'

'You are very, very good at this game. Better than me'
Nancy Brown

Traitors star Amanda is in danger of being banished from Ardross Castle next, bookies have predicted, after Hugo threw a brutal “parting shot” in her direction.

Hugo was the first Traitor to be unmasked by the Faithfuls. He was banished and revealed himself to be a Traitor during Saturday night’s show (January 3).

However, after his comments towards Amanda at the roundtable, bookies have told us viewers are backing Amanda to be the next player to be axed from the show.

What did Hugo say to Amanda before he was banished from The Traitors castle?

In the kitchen, ahead of the roundtable, Hugo tried to throw Amanda under the bus. Fiona told him that Amanda had offered her some Traitor-catching tips, telling her to look for people who had started acting differently after that initial meeting on the train.

She told him: “From this very boisterous and loud person on the train you’ve become very quiet. And then this morning, all of a sudden, this loud voice came back. You weren’t on my radar until Amanda mentioned it.”

“Well I would like to talk about Amanda,” he countered. “I think she going round stirring the pot. Amanda yesterday, in the car, she was stirring yesterday about you,” he told Jade, who was also in the kitchen. “Just give me a chance for more than just one roundtable and you’ll see how effective I can be, or at least that I’m trying.”

‘You are playing a blinder, Amanda’

At the roundtable, with his back against the wall, Hugo hit out directly at Amanda when Fiona brought up their conversation about looking for contestants whose behaviour had changed.

He shut Amanda down when she tried to argue her case, telling her: “You’re not chairing this meeting, let Fiona speak.”

“The only person I’ve seen pulling strings and using advocacy is Amanda,” he replied after Fiona said she was going to write his name down. “The way that Amanda spoke yesterday to Jade, and you’ve been in Fiona’s ear today…”

“No no no,” she replied. “I’ve not been in Fiona’s ear, Fiona came to me and said can you help me.” “Can we leave it like this,” Hugo said, preparing to strike. “The only person we’ve seen actually pulling the strings and stirring it is Amanda.”

“I’m not pulling any strings, I’m a Faithful. You are using your skillset to deflect I think,” she responded. “You’re the only one who’s prosecuting people,” he said, as host Claudia Winkleman told them: “The time for talking is over.”

However, Hugo wasn’t done there. As he turned over his chalkboard to reveal Amanda’s name, he said: “Amanda, you are playing a blinder. You attacked Jade for no reason. You are very, very good at this game. Better than me.”

After he was unmasked as a Traitor, viewers and those in the castle are now working on a theory that it was a Traitor vs Traitor roundtable battle.

Hugo’s ‘parting shot’ tips Amanda for next banishment

Shane Orton of Sports Casting UK told us Amanda is 4/5 on to be banished next. She’s followed by Traitor Stephen, who has odds of 5/1. Reece is at 6/7, James is at 7/1 and Sam is at 8/1.

“Amanda heading the next to be banished market feels like a direct reaction to Hugo’s parting shot,” Shane told us. “Several players have clearly interpreted it as more than frustration, reading it instead as a subtle nod towards a Traitor who turned on him, and that kind of ambiguity is dangerous.

“Once a comment like that enters the group consciousness, it doesn’t need to be proven to be effective. Amanda is already seen as sharp, enquiring and difficult to read, so it doesn’t take much for suspicion to crystallise around her.

“From the Traitors’ perspective, this is not a situation they would be desperate to defuse. Losing a clever, influential player at the roundtable suits them just fine. Which is why it’s hard to look past Amanda as the most likely name to be sent packing next.”
