The Traitors is back tonight but fans are fearing the worst for Rachel Duffy – as they think “sly” Stephen Libby is about to do the dirty.

Rachel and Stephen are working together as Traitors in the castle and have both vowed to have each other’s backs.

But as the BBC show enters its final week, viewers are worried.

Fans of the show have branded Stephen “false and sly” and are convinced he will double cross Rachel to win.

They even claim to have proof that he will betray her.

The Traitors: Fans fear Stephen will double cross Rachel

Tonight’s episode will pick up from the huge cliffhanger we were left on last Friday.

The players were all told at a dinner party that there will be no murder due to a new twist. Claudia Winkleman revealed the Traitors would instead be handing a special dagger to one contestant.

Whoever gets the dagger will be given two votes at the next Round Table. This is really significant, as someone only needs three votes at this stage in the game to be banished.

Rachel and Stephen were shown at the end as they quietly plotted who to give the dagger to. They are even allowed to award it to a Traitor, which sparked some worry that Rachel could take it and vote Stephen out.

But while that could happen, fans are more convinced Stephen could end up betraying her – not the other way around.

‘Proof’ Stephen will betray Rachel

Fans have been busy discussing possible outcomes of this year’s series of The Traitors. And one big thought on everyone’s lips is whether Stephen will go ahead and throw Rachel under the bus.

One viewer even claims to have ‘proof’ that this could happen.

Earlier in the show, Stephen voted to banish fellow Traitor Fiona Hughes. Despite this, he burst into tears following her exit and kept apologising for voting for her.

Stephen insisted he felt awful, as Fiona was a very good friend of his.

But his emotion has now been branded “crocodile tears”, sparking belief that he is far more ruthless than he lets on.

Writing in the Traitors UK Facebook group, one fan pulled this up and said: “Stephen will find it easiest to betray Rachel. Look at his crocodile tears for Fiona. He’s glib, false and sly.”

Another viewer added: “I think everyone may just be surprised and Stephen may shock us all…”

Referring to the final scenes with the cash prize, someone else wrote: “If one of them steals, it will be Stephen…”

Agreeing, another fan said: “It would be a real twist if Stephen throws Rachel under the bus.”

What time is The Traitors on tonight?

The Traitors continues at 8pm tonight (Wednesday January 21, 2026). The show is on for one hour on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

There’s now only three episodes left now (sob!), so make sure you don’t miss it.

The penultimate show will air tomorrow at the same time (Thursday), but there is a schedule shake-up for the final.

Instead of its usual slot, The Traitors Final will start at 8.30pm on Friday. We only get an extra 15 minutes, though, meaning all the drama will have reached its conclusion by 9.45pm.

We can barely contain ourselves!
