'Here comes the backstab!' Traitors fans spot moment Rachel lays the groundwork to throw Stephen under the bus
After saying she'd never betray him…
Rachel Duffy is planning to backstab her fellow Traitor Stephen, despite vowing she’d never double-cross him, fans of the BBC One series reckon.
Rachel and Stephen have been Traitors since the outset, with the former especially flying under the radar, despite numerous attempts to bring her down.
But last night, after a tense roundtable saw Jessie accuse Stephen of being a Traitor, Rachel appeared to be showing signs that she’ll soon be throwing her fellow Traitor under the bus…

Rachel’s plan to sabotage Traitor Stephen?
At the roundtable, Jessie revealed that she thinks Stephen is a Traitor because he survived being murdered in the cages task. Speaking afterwards, with Stephen not in earshot, Rachel appeared to be actively pushing that theory.
First, Rachel brought the subject of Stephen up as she said to Jessie: “Great argument that you were pulling together. How did you remember all of those people?” “Because I mapped it all out,” Jessie told her.

Walking with Ellie, Matty and Roxy, Rachel said in hushed tones: “You know what you need to do… hold on…”
Jessie then cut in and said: “But why did Stephen come back?” “Well that was just up to chance,” said Rachel, before adding: “So who’s just letting that slide and slip under? Who came back from a cage? Because I think there’s a Traitor.” “But he’s the only one left,” Jessie pressed. “I know,” said Rachel.
Speaking directly to camera, Rachel then said that if Stephen “doesn’t handle it properly, he could be in big trouble”. She added: “I will stick up for him in a smart way. And if I can gently divert, I’ll do that.”

‘A backstab is coming soon’
But viewers aren’t entirely convinced, with one resharing a screenshot of the moment and declaring: “Here comes the backstab!”
Another added: “If Stephen thinks Rachel won’t stab him in the back the minute she gets a chance, he’s a fool.” A third said: “Rachel is so gonna drop Stephen in it. And, you know what, I look forward to it.” “Oooh Rachel is seeding Stephen,” declared another.
Another spotted a sign from producers that Stephen’s days are numbered…
“I know the edit enough to know that repeatedly showing Rachel looking contemplative as Stephen is getting accused means a backstab is coming soon,” they said.
