Every single blunder the Faithfuls have missed amid concerns Stephen's time as a Traitor is running out
Stephen could be digging his own grave...The Traitors continues to grip audiences as Series 4 gathers pace, but for Stephen, the pressure is clearly building.
When the series launched last week (January 1), Claudia chose Stephen to be one of her Traitors, along with Rachel and Hugo. Fiona was also picked as the Secret Traitor, a twist that was only revealed last night (January 7).
So far, Hugo is the only Traitor to be caught. However, as the game show continues, viewers are concerned that Stephen has begun to dig his own grave. Here are all the signs where he’s messed up as a Traitor…

The Traitors: Stephen was plotting his mission in front of Faithful Reece
During last Saturday’s episode (January 3), Traitors Stephen and Rachel were set a task.
After Hugo was banished and before the next murder, they were given a special covert mission instead of a normal murder that evening.
Rachel and Stephen were told to put a blood-coloured fingerprint on the portraits of nine contestants on the family tree artwork they wanted to shortlist for murder.
They had to do this without being detected by the other players in the castle. If they succeeded, the Secret Traitor would be revealed and join them in the turret as a regular Traitor.
While trying to complete their mission without being caught, Stephen and Rachel joined each other in front of the painting. The pair was in the company of Faithful Reece, where Rachel said to Stephen: “I need to give you a heads up on something.”
Stephen then told Rachel that he was OK with being one of the nine contestants shortlisted once he left. However, Stephen was confident that Reece would clock that he was by the painting when it happened.
The following morning, once the contestants found out about the secret mission, Reece didn’t question Stephen’s position as a Traitor, leaving viewers fuming. Instead, at the roundtable, he voted for Ross.
“”I don’t have enough evidence yet.” Reece you’ve got to be [bleep]ing kidding me,” one user wrote on X.
“Reece immediately doesn’t deserve a penny from the prize fund if he fumbles this plain sight mission that HE WITNESSED,” another insisted.

Huge slip-up at the round table
While Reece hasn’t shared too much suspicion of Stephen, the likes of Jessie have.
During last night’s round table, Stephen made a speech about his secret mission. He stated that the last person he saw near the painting was Maz.
However, while trying to explain himself, he slipped up and made a huge blunder. “I was thinking to myself last night,” he said. While correcting himself, he added: “Sorry, this morning after we found out.”
Rachel’s face expressed an immediate concern, knowing he had messed up. A suspicious Jessie also appeared a little confused.
Stephen’s Naz theory could work against him
Stephen was adamant at the round table that the last person he saw was Maz.
However, following their trial later that episode, both Stephen and Naz are up for murder tonight (January 8). Sam and Reece could also be killed off the show.
If Maz is to be murdered, Stephen’s theory will go straight out the window and more heat will be on Stephen. However, if Reece is saved, he might wake up and realise why Stephen wasn’t killed.
Stephen was not involved in the conversation between Rachel and Fiona when they discussed who to murder. As a result, the decision they made could end up harming his game without him being aware of it.
‘Stephen’s a little bit on touchy ground at the moment’
Earlier in the series, Stephen found himself in a vulnerable position after being part of a small group of contestants who lost a challenge and were split from the rest of the players. That same evening, one member of that group was murdered.
As the Faithfuls began to pick apart what had happened, suspicion quickly fell on the idea that a Traitor must have been among that losing team. With the numbers in the castle steadily dropping, Series 2 star Paul exclusively told TV Guide that he believes that line of thinking could soon place Stephen firmly in the firing line.
“Stephen’s a little bit on touchy ground at the moment,” he said on behalf of 10bet Casino.
“He’s had a little bit of a dungeon moment, as I had in Series 2, where it might just keep pointing back to him who was in the room with Ross. You know, like, ‘You must be a Traitor’ because more people are going to be banished and murdered, and he’s obviously going to remain.”
Looking ahead, Paul predicts Stephen could survive until around episode seven or eight, but warns that could work against him.
“As soon as that table gets smaller, it’s going to be like, ‘Hold on a minute, how are you still here?’ So that might crop up at some point, depending on how long Ross stays,” he said.
Out of all the remaining Faithfuls, Jessie firmly believes in the small group theory. All she needs is more people to side with her and Stephen could be toast.
