Traitors viewers believe Fiona is the real reason Maz is up for murder again

It was revealed in Wednesday night’s episode (January 7) that Fiona was the Secret Traitor. This means she had been pulling the strings all along.
Viewers know that this year the Secret Traitor twist meant that the chosen Traitors weren’t actually able to murder whoever they wanted. Instead, the mystery Traitor was in charge, giving them a list of people. And now that fans know it was Fiona, they have noticed quite a pattern.
Maz is up for murder again
Faithful Maz seems to be constantly up for murder in the show, and fans have noticed how he can’t catch a break.
In last night’s episode, the murder shortlist was cut down by a challenge. It involved contestants teaming up, and the saved stars competing in order to save their partner at risk.
In the end, Faithfuls Maz, Sam, and Reece, alongside Traitor Stephen all face the next murder. This isn’t the first time Maz has been up. And while he’s potentially getting murdered due to his teammate not winning the challenge, he was only ever on that shortlist because of the Traitors.
Fans seem to be very annoyed at the idea of Maz leaving the show. And many are calling for him to be “protected”, as they don’t think he’s ever done anything wrong.
The Traitors fans work out why Maz has been up for murder
Taking to X to share their thoughts, many realised that Fiona could be to blame for all of the times that Maz faced murder.
One wrote: “For the third time in a row, Maz is up for murder. Now knowing Fiona has put him up twice before, is it inevitable that he is gone?”
Another penned: “Maz has no chance. Fiona clearly wants his blood.”
“Wait I just realised Fiona being the Secret Traitor means it was her putting Maz on the shortlist every night. Oh my” a third commented.
Another feared: “Oh Maz, I think it’s your final night. Fiona is never going to let the opportunity to murder that man face-to-face go. She has been trying to get him out since day one. Absolutely generational one-sided beef.”
“What’s Fiona’s beef with Maz?” another asked.
One fan actually thinks Fiona is purposefully targeting him because they may have an outside connection.
They speculated: “I reckon the reason Fiona kept putting Maz up is because he is her husband. Why not? We’re all convinced they’re all connected.”
Fans desperate for Maz to be saved
But along with blaming Fiona, many want Maz to last, as they think he seems like a genuinely nice guy.
One penned: “Leave Maz alone!”
“Why are they putting Maz on the murder shortlist every day? He seems like a nice guy!” another asked.
A third penned: “They are being so mean to Maz. I don’t get it.”
