Izzy clashes with Donte in Waterloo Road episode 3
In episode 3, Izzy asks Donte for permission to go to Ibiza with Aleena and Lois. Donte hesitates, pointing out that Izzy is only 16 and shouldn’t be going clubbing.
After Izzy loses her temper, Donte agrees to speak to Aleena and Lois before making a decision. However, it becomes clear that the girls are unwilling to include Izzy if it limits their plans.
Later, Izzy confronts Donte, blaming him for the situation. Although he reassures her that future trips with friends are possible, Izzy lashes out, insisting she has no other friends.
The argument escalates when Izzy shoves Donte into lockers before storming off. As he tries to stop her from leaving, she kicks a door into his face, leaving him bloodied with a cut and a black eye.
Izzy later apologises. By the end of the episode, she attempts to run away to stay with her aunt Mika, but Donte tracks her down, and the pair agree to try family therapy.

Fans react strongly to Izzy’s actions in episode 3
Many viewers were quick to criticise Izzy following the episode’s most dramatic moment.
“Only on episode 3 and my GOD, Izzy is so annoying! Coming from someone who lost a parent as a teenager, she has no reason to be shoving her only parent’s head into a door,” one Reddit user wrote.
Another added: “Yeah she was bang out of order with Donte this past season and he’s been so lenient because he himself is lost too.”
Others focused on the performance rather than the character’s actions. “Yeah I think they all need therapy and hopefully they got it off screen. The acting from her so good though,” one fan commented.
Some viewers were more sympathetic, arguing that Izzy’s behaviour reflects unresolved grief.
“Izzy is genuinely acting out because of a bunch of grief and trauma and who knows what else going through her head,” one user said.
“People deal with grief differently btw,” another pointed out. “I was shocked but was laughing too cause in real life they’re niece and uncle,” a third commented.
