So what happened to Dr Todd in Emmerdale? Serena Sugden top of the suspect list for the murder

Emmerdale aired a flashforward today (Wednesday, July 1) revealed that Dr Caitlyn Todd is at the centre of a murder whodunnit.
With Dr Todd lying to Mack about what went on between her and Charity, it seems that she’s about to get her comeuppance.
The brief flashforward shot saw her lying on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood. But, who bumped her off?

In tonight’s Emmerdale episode, Mack went to pay Dr Todd a visit at work. He confronted her over her sexual assault of Charity, demanding that she admitted the truth about what she did.
Instead, Dr Todd tried to spill the truth about baby Leyla being Ross and Charity’s, but Mack already knew this. He wanted Todd to confess to blackmailing and assaulting his wife.
Todd then said that she and Charity were intimate, but Charity had been the one to ‘initiate’ it. She begged Mack to ‘open his eyes’ and see that Charity was a cheat and a liar. As for Todd, oh, she would ‘never lie’ and was an honest woman.
Mack saw through Todd’s lies though and started shouting his mouth off at her in the hospital. He made it clear that he was never going let this lie.
Todd then said that the police wouldn’t find any evidence and would drop the case. She would then tell Sarah and Jacob who baby Leyla’s biological parents really were. And, Todd would ‘win.’
But, Mack then said that he would make sure that Todd stopped ‘breathing’ if she came near Charity again. He would personally ‘bury’ her.
Meanwhile, Charity had a heart to heart with Serena Sugden and realised that she could never let Dr Todd get away with what she’d done to her. She was never going to let her win and would keep fighting until justice was served.
A flashforward at the end of the episode then showed Dr Todd lying dead on the floor next to a pool of blood…
Emmerdale fan theory predicts that Serena Sugden killed Dr Todd
With Serena being really supportive of Charity and also being a rather mysterious newcomer, fans think she’ll take matters into her own hands to make sure that her new friend gets the justice she deserves. And, that might mean that she kills Todd.
One fan on X theorised: “It would be crazy if Serena was the one who killed Dr. Todd. Or is just a coincidence she’s killed after Serena appears?”
Another person commented: “Reading about possible future plot lines and the possibility that Todd will be murdered. I wonder if the mysterious Serena Sugden could be part of Todd’s past. Could she be a person holding a grudge?”
A third fan also added: “Was it the new Sugden who killed Todd? Something is going on there,” while another finished: “Maybe Serena is a psycho killer after all???”
Serena’s also been very interested in finding out more information on killer John Sugden. Is she about to follow in his footsteps? Will she kill Dr Todd?
