Having not faced justice for what she’s done and left Charity in a complete and utter state, we’ve got a bit of a nasty taste in our mouths over her departure. Is that really it? Todd really twisted the knife in Charity (Credit: ITV) Dr Todd packs up and leaves Emmerdale after final run-in with Charity It’s been a hard watch this week after Charity Dingle was sexually assaulted by Dr Todd on Sunday night (June 7). She bravely reported it to the police, despite the fact she knew it could expose her baby lies. The police did an examination to get evidence and then took a statement from her. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Tonight (Wednesday June 10) Todd was taken in for questioning. And of course, she lied through her teeth about it all. Todd claimed the sex had been consensual and claimed it was a silly mistake on both of their parts. She seemed unfazed as she lied that Charity was obsessed with her and had become upset when it was clear they were never going to be together. She was let go and immediately went to confront Charity. Todd told her in no uncertain terms she needed to retract her statement or else she would tell Sarah and Jacob everything.Don't miss a single story! DS Reid later went to see Charity and told her they were still investigating but they was not enough evidence to charge Todd at the moment. Charity couldn’t believe it and feeling totally let down, she withdrew her statement. It seemed like Todd had won. She then finished packing the last of the things in her car and drove away from Emmerdale. She gave a wave to Charity as she left, leaving Ms Dingle feeling physically sick. We asked Emmerdale for comment, but they are keeping tight-lipped over what happens next. There are several storylines at play here: Charity’s baby lie, plus her sexual assault, not to mention the Jacob bullying storyline involving Dr Todd that was never properly resolved. With so many loose ends still hanging around, our money is on Dr Todd making a return. And justice being done at last. We hope it’s prison, but soaps do have a habit of killing off abusers. Either way, Todd needs to pay and we have everything crossed Emmerdale will make her and it will be delicious. Charity is a wreck (Credit: ITV) What’s next for Charity? Meanwhile, Charity is falling apart. She tries desperately to hold it together, but with even Chas against her now, she has no one to turn to. Desperate, Charity can’t hide it from Mack who starts to worry something is seriously wrong. Next week Charity talks to Manpreet and claims she has postnatal depression. Sympathetic Manpreet prescribes her something, but Charity feels more alone than ever given this is yet another lie. As Sarah tries to help, feeling enormously guilty for her gran being her surrogate, Charity can’t take it. She downs sleeping pills and wine, slipping further into depression.
