The Night Manager is back any day now with a long-awaited series 2, and it will be available to watch on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and Prime Video.
Nine years have passed since Jonathan Pine helped bring down arms dealer Richard Roper in Egypt at the end of series 1. Now, Tricky Dicky is dead, and Jonathan Pine is living a quiet life as Alex Goodwin, a low-level intelligence officer with MI6.
But his steady life is about to get extremely dangerous once again when he catches sight of an old Roper mercenary. Jonathan is subsequently called into action as a British intelligence operative once again. This time, his mission is to infiltrate the inner circle of Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos.

Is The Night Manager series 2 out yet?
It’s been nine – nearly 10! – long Jonathan Pine-less years, so we understand that it’s been a long time coming. But, although series 2 of The Night Manager isn’t out just yet, it is finally landing in 2026.
Series 1 aired in 2016, and easily became one of that year’s most-watched TV shows. It was nominated for more than 30 awards and won multiple BAFTAs, Emmy Awards, and Golden Globes – including Best Actor for Tom Hiddleston.
And The Night Manager series 2 looks just as good. But you just have to wait a few more days…
What is the release date? What channel is it on?
The Night Manager series 2 will arrive on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on New Year’s Day 2026 at 9.05pm. It’s actually a HUGE day for TV fans, as Red Eye series 2, Harlan Coben’s Run Away, and the new series The Traitors all arrive on the very first day of 2026.
Pardon us for being such TV nerds, but that is a very good day indeed!
After the Beeb, The Night Manager will be available to watch on Prime Video for the rest of the world the following week. Yes, we’re being smug that we’re getting it first.
Is series 2 on Amazon Prime Video?
The new series will also be streaming on Prime Video, but not in the UK. It will arrive on the streaming service on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
As well as the premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, Prime Video subscribers in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide will have access to episodes. But this excludes the UK.
When is the next episode of The Night Manager on?
The first episode of The Night Manager will go out on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on New Year’s Day 2026 at 9.05pm. The second will follow on Sunday, January 04, 2026, at 9pm.
