Who is Sort Your Life Out's Iwan Carrington? Meet the successful YouTuber behind the BBC show's remarkable transformations
Iwan is a regular on the showSort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon returns to screens tonight – and the star will be joined by her co-star, Iwan Carrington.
But who is Iwan? What has he starred in before? How old is he? And is he in a relationship?

Who is Iwan Carrington?
Iwan will be familiar to viewers of Stacey’s show, as he is one of the star’s right-hand men.
The star’s role on the series is to help with the cleaning, providing cleaning tips and hacks.
He has been a regular on the show since it launched back in 2021.
You may recognise Iwan from some other shows too. From 2020, he appeared on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4 as a bargain hunter. He once gushed over appearing on the show, admitting he loved working with Steph McGovern.
“She is the most professional person, and she just creates an amazing atmosphere in the studio. She’s a powerhouse,” he said.

He also fronted Big Block Overhaul on HGTV in the US. Big Block Overhaul was a social experiment “in which a team of experts helps a group of neighbouring families to work together to declutter, organise, clean and redesign their homes, in just five days”.
Where is Iwan Carrington from?
Iwan was born in Shropshire on April 26th. He currently lives in London.
His age is unknown, though he is believed to be in his thirties!
He bought his first home in South-West London in 2009 – and admitted he was doing it all up on a budget.
“Cash was tight so doing it up was on a total budget. One of the first things I did was rip up the old carpet, and for the first couple of months I lived on cardboard on the floor,” he told The Metro in 2022.
“I have fond memories of eating pizza on camping chairs on top of a makeshift cardboard carpet after moving in,” he added.
He also revealed he once “transformed” his kitchen for £50.

Iwan Carrington Clean in 15
Away from the show, Iwan is a published author! His book, Clean in 15, which features cleaning tricks and tips, was published in August 2025.
He discussed the book on his Instagram at the time. “I WROTE A BOOK! Over the past year, I’ve been pulling together all of my best cleaning hacks, time-saving routines & simple tips, and written everything into one place, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!”
“From my fascination for shiny letter boxes as a little boy, tricks I learned as a teenager cleaning my local pub, and methods I’ve discovered whilst sharing my #CleanWithMe vlogs, Clean in 15 is designed to make cleaning quick, easy, fun, and totally faff-free! His book was a huge success, becoming a Sunday Times bestseller.
He has also contributed to the official Sort Your Life Out book, 3 Steps to Transform Your Home and Change Your Life. He co-wrote it alongside his fellow SYLO stars Stacey, Dilly Carter, and Robert Bent.
Is Iwan Carrington in a relationship?
It’s unclear whether Iwan is in a relationship at present.
He has previously spoken about a “partner”, though he hasn’t revealed whether they’re still together.
Iwan referenced his partner during a YouTube video on his channel back in 2018. In the video, Iwan confirmed he could see himself settling in Germany as that is “where my partner is from”.
However, no photos of Iwan’s partner can be found on his social media. The star keeps his personal life private and only puts out “what I’m comfortable with”.
There has been speculation in the past that Iwan was in a relationship with fellow YouTuber Luke Catleugh. However, the duo revealed in a video that they’re just friends and have known each other for the best part of a decade.
“We met at an event in 2017. We followed each other on Twitter, and I said, ‘Do you fancy coming along to this event?’ It was a whiskey and fashion event, I think. We got there, and it was all a bit of a shambles, but we made friends and went straight to the H&M sale,” they said in a video from 2022.

What does Iwan Carrington post on YouTube?
Iwan has a hugely successful YouTube channel, titled Mr Carrington.
It has over 129k subscribers and over 900 videos. Iwan posts on a regular basis, and his content consists of vlogs, shopping hauls, renovation videos, and, of course, cleaning tips.
Writing about his YouTube channel on Instagram in 2023, he said: “I’m Iwan, also known as Mr Carrington, which is the name of my YouTube channel. I posted my first YouTube video in 2017, which was painting my kitchen cupboards, and I have been uploading new videos every week ever since!
“My vlogs cover everything from room makeovers, craft DIYs, shopping hauls and travel.”
You can subscribe to Iwan’s YouTube channel, Mr Carrington. He also has an Instagram account, @mistercarrington, where he posts vlogs, cleaning tips, and other snaps of his life. It has 383k followers. He appears to post on it pretty regularly!
Iwan Carrington cleaning tips
Earlier this year, Iwan opened up about his love of cleaning in an interview with Ideal Home.
As well as admitting his longest time spent cleaning is 50 minutes, he also admitted it’s a bit of a “muscle memory” for him.
“Cleaning is similar to going to the gym, or if you’re taking up running, where you can build up a bit of a habit with it and then it gets easier and it almost becomes like a muscle memory,” he explained.
What time is Sort Your Life Out on tonight?
Sort Your Life Out returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer for its sixth series tonight (Tuesday, March 10).
It will air from 8pm on BBC One. Episodes will then continue on a weekly basis, airing every Tuesday night.
