Who left Celebrity MasterChef 2026 tonight? Jason Mohammad told he'd make a good 'pot washer' as he's sent home

TV and radio presenter Jason Mohammad was given the chop after an absolute disastrous day in the kitchen.
In one brutal takedown, new judge Giorgio Locatelli told Jason he should be “washing the pots” rather than cooking.
Ouch!
So where did it all go wrong? And who are MasterChef 2026’s first semi-finalists?
Here’s what went down in the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen after a very tense episode of the BBC show.
Who left Celebrity MasterChef tonight? Jason’s disastrous day
Poor Jason had a shocker of a day in the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen. Thursday’s episode saw him coming repeatedly under fire from Giorgio after making big mistakes.
In the first round, the contestants were split into pairs. Jason was paired with Emily Campbell, while Joe Pasquale and Shakira Khan were put together .
Each pair had to cook two a three course meal. They had to prepare a starter of smoked mackerel scotch eggs. The main was panfried chicken breasts with “decadent” fondant potatoes and braised leeks. The dessert was a sticky toffee pudding.
Unfortunately, Jason didn’t cook the soft-boiled eggs for long enough. They then broke while he was peeling them. As a result, Emily struggled to wrap the mackerel paste around them. She told Jason they were a “disaster”.
The pair then served up raw potatoes with their main – and they had been Jason’s job. He also ruined the braised leeks, with Giorgio briskly asking: “What did it say? Mashed leaks?”
On the other team, Shakira and Joe served up a plate of slop for pudding. They had not baked their sticky toffee pudding for long enough.
Yet in a testament to how badly Emily and Jason had performed, Shakira and Joe still won the challenge overall.
Giorgio told Shakira she could be a Sous-chef. He then said: “Jason, after I looked at your potatoes, you’re in the back doing the washing up.”
Once the contestants had left the room, Grace shook her head and said to Giorgio: “Telling Jason Mohammad you’d have him as a pot washer?”
Giorgio simply replied: “Yes.”
‘Your broccoli is naked’
Jason’s day didn’t get any better.
Later in the show, Celebrity MasterChef welcomed Seema Pankhania into the kitchen. Each contestant took on one of the popular cook’s best-loved recipes.
Jason was given cabbage dumplings. They were stuffed with soy and ginger minced chicken and served with egg fried rice and tender stem broccoli with a coconut topping.
But it all went wrong. First, Jason failed to follow the recipe correctly and began cooking the chicken filling for the dumplings. Seema had to step in and tell him it was supposed to be wrapped in the cabbage raw before cooking.
Grace Dent later described his broccoli as “naked”, as it was completely missing the topping.
Viewers were unlikely to be surprised that Giorgio and Grace showed Jason the door.
Jason hits back at Giorgio after Celebrity MasterChef exit
The judges put Emily and Shakira straight through to the first semi-final of Celebrity MasterChef 2026. Joe was in the bottom two with Jason, but he scraped through as well.
Letting Jason go, Grace said: “Jason, you’ve shown improvement along the way but we’ve seen you struggle.”
Giorgio invited Jason back to his kitchen one day. But Jason replied: “As long as you don’t have a go at me, that would be great.”
Hanging up his apron backstage, Jason again commented on Giorgio’s offer after his difficult day.
“Wow, the cabbages have killed me today. It was too hard for me and just too fancy,” he said.
“He’s invited me into his kitchen free but, if I’ve got to pay, you’re okay. I’ll keep watching him on telly instead.”
No love lost then!
