In the most recent episode of EastEnders, Penny faced a horrifying health issue. And as it continued, some comments left fans believing a heartbreaking twist is coming up.
Penny Branning’s health issue
Penny developed a blood clot, putting both her – and her baby – at risk.
It happened when she was with her uncle Max. Penny started coughing up a lot of blood, and was quickly rushed to the hospital.
She was told she had suffered a blood clot, but thankfully both she and the baby were fine. Penny was terrified that something sinister could’ve happened, and promised to take better care of herself.
But while Max was calling the hospital, Penny made a comment that grabbed viewers’ attention. She told Max that if anything were to happen them they had to “save the baby”. And fans online believe this was definitely foreshadowing.
This is because in the New Year flashforward, Penny’s dad, Jack, was taking care of a baby called Ethan. But Penny was nowhere to be seen. And now with this new comment about saving the baby, fans believe she won’t make it to the New Year.
EastEnders fans convinced Penny will die
Taking to X after the heartbreaking scenes aired, many fans commented on the foreshadowing.
One penned: “The death foreshadowing from Penny. Please don’t kill her off ahead of the flash-forward.”
Another added: “Oh God. The obvious flash-forward signs. This time Penny is coughing up blood.”
“I think Penny must be a goner by New Year” a third commented.
A fourth wrote: “If the theories that Penny dies are true, could it be caused by more clotting? Especially post-partum?”
“I’m going to be so sad if Penny dies. Absolutely terrified of it happening” another commented.
So, while nothing has been confirmed, Penny’s death is looking more and more likely. But fans will just have to keep watching to find out.
