WWE SmackDown tonight: What time it's on and the confirmed line-up

Drew McIntyre is back, and UK fans won't need to stay up late...

WWE SmackDown returns to Netflix tonight, with Randy Orton set to take on The Miz in a qualifying match – so make sure you know what time it’s on.

In 2024, WWE signed a landmark deal with Netflix to stream wrestling events for the next 10 years.

However, for UK fans, it’s been a bit of a burden. Whether it’s Raw, NXT, or SmackDown, bouts have often been aired at 1am, forcing viewers to stay up late (as they would for WrestleMania and other events).

Thankfully, if you’re in the UK and want to watch WWE SmackDown tonight, you’ll be able to watch it at a normal time.

What time is WWE SmackDown on tonight?

WWE SmackDown begins tonight (January 16) at 8pm UK time on Netflix.

As for why it’s starting so early, SmackDown is streaming live straight out of The O2 Arena in London.

With previous events, the UK would have to abide North America’s airtimes for any WWE event. So, if there was a fight in Glasgow, you still wouldn’t be able to stream it until 1am.

SmackDown start times in the US and abroad

This no longer appears to be the case. If you tune in at your usual time in the US, it’ll be a taped version of SmackDown. But it’s still streaming live globally, and you can check when it’s out in other time zones below:

  • 12pm PT
  • 1pm MT
  • 2pm CT
  • 3pm ET
  • 5pm Brazil
  • 8pm UK
  • 9pm Central Europe
  • 10pm Eastern Europe
  • 1:30am India
  • 4am China
  • 5am Japan
  • 6am Australia (AEST)
  • 8am New Zealand

SmackDown will also be broadcast on USA Network at 8pm ET.

WWE SmackDown line-up and match card for January 16

  • Randy Orton vs. The Miz (#1 Contendership Qualifying Match)
  • Matt Cardona vs. Trick Williams (#1 Contendership Qualifying Match)
  • Damian Priest vs. Solo Sikoa (#1 Contendership Qualifying Match)
  • Sami Zayn vs. Ilja Dragunov (#1 Contendership Qualifying Match)
  • Carmelo Hayes vs. TBC (US Title Open Challenge)

Drew McIntyre is also set to return as part of tonight’s SmackDown event, coming after his victory against Cody Rhodes in the Three Stages of Hell Match.

The main question is, who will Carmelo Hayes take on? If you ask fans, they’ll say it could be Kit Wilson, given he’d be fighting Hayes on his home soil.
