Classic Coronation Street preview: Jack and Vera are thrilled to see Paul, Leanne's struggling and Casey makes a move on Ashley!

In Classic Coronation Street spoilers for ITV3 this week, Leanne’s restaurant business is struggling, but is there hope on the horizon? Plus there’s good news for Sean and Violet, and Vernon and Liz are reunited.

Plus, Casey worms her way into Ashley’s affections, as Claire stays away from home.

Paul’s trying to impress the Duckworths

Paul sucks up to the Duckworths by cooking all his meals, and Molly is delighted. Tyrone, though, is suspicious about his motives. When Paul asks if he can stay a few more days his grandparents are thrilled.

Vernon and Liz break up!

Vernon sells his Northern Soul records and buys Liz tickets to Paris. But later, Derek comes to the pub and tells him that Linda’s thrown him out. Vernon’s sympathetic, but Liz is furious to see him in the Rovers.

When they come face to face, Derek tells Liz that unless she carries on their affair he’ll spill the beans to Vernon. Fuming, Liz refuses to be blackmailed. So Derek drops the bombshell! He tells Vernon that he and Liz have been sleeping together. Vernon’s upset. He tears up the tickets for Paris, packs his things and leaves leaving Liz distraught.

Vernon spends the night on a chair in the cab office, and he’s feeling sad. He tells Lloyd he thought Liz was different. Liz tracks him down at the cafe wanting to talk. She begs him to give her another chance and tells him how sorry she is but Vernon’s not budging. Worried about him, Liz asks Lloyd to let Vernon stay in his spare room and offers to pay him secretly.

The next day, Liz tries to pay Vernon back for the Paris tickets but he won’t take her money. She begs him to come home but Vernon refuses although he does admit he still loves her.

And then they’re back together!

She’s gutted when Vernon announces he’s got a job with a band playing at a hotel in Marbella. Liz puts together a tape of all their favourite songs and asks Lloyd to play it on the way to the airport. Vernon hears Liz’s tape and realises he can’t leave the woman he loves!

Liz and Vernon are reunited. Aww!

Sally’s getting studious in Classic Coronation Street

Sally decides to look for a new job because she doesn’t want to work in the factory forever. She announces she’s going to study A Level English Literature. But when her books arrive, it’s not long before she’s struggling.

She’s pleased when John offers to help her with her studies.

Claire’s struggling after the fire

Ashley and Claire arrive back in Weatherfield, but while Ashley’s keen to make a new start, Claire’s worried that the arsonist hasn’t been caught. When he discovers she’s been asking questions at the police station instead of preparing for Freddie’s birthday party, he’s annoyed. But Claire storms out, accusing him of thinking she’s mad.

At the party, Claire is distracted and Ashley isn’t happy about it. When Casey turns up on the doorstep, Claire invites her in. But Ashley tells Kevin he’s not sure their marriage will survive.

Later he’s worried when she neglects the house. Claire tells him she’s not coping and she’s going to stay with her mum. They agree she’ll take Freddie and Joshua will stay with Ashley.

Claire invites Casey for a chat at her mum’s house and pours her heart out. And later, Casey shows up at Ashley’s and offers him a shoulder to cry on.

Casey continues to worm her way into Ashley’s affections. She’s there when he takes Joshua to school and offers to give the shop keys to Kirk. But when Ashley returns he’s surprised to see Casey behind the counter instead of Mr Sutherland! Casey tells him Kirk is ill so she opened up instead and Ashley’s grateful.

She tidies the house for Ashley and sorts Joshua’s toys, too.

When Claire calls round to get her clothes, Ashley tries to persuade her to stay but Claire says she needs more time.

What’s Casey up to in Classic Coronation Street?

Meanwhile, Casey carries on chatting to Claire, persuading her to stay away longer for her own good. And she’s still seeing Ashley too and even offers him a comforting hug when he tells her he misses his dad.

Later, Ashley invites Casey to stay for dinner to say thank you for minding Joshua. He ends up pouring his heart out to Casey about how he wishes Claire would come home. As he gets emotional, he kisses Casey. She pulls away and Ashley is mortified!

When Ashley pops round to see Claire, he’s shocked to find Casey there. For a horrible moment he thinks Casey’s told Claire how he tried to kiss her but she hasn’t. He persuades Claire to come home and he’s delighted when she agrees.

Back at the house he finds Casey waiting for him outside. He apologises for trying to kiss her and tells her that it’s Claire that he loves and she’s coming back tomorrow. Casey is filled with jealousy.

Financial food fiascos in Classic Coronation Street

Yana and Cilla try to drum up business for the chippy, but Yana thinks it’s a waste of time and suggests Cilla goes to work for Leanne instead. Roger and Janice go for a meal at Valandro’s, but they’re worried that it doesn’t seem very busy.

Cilla asks Leanne for a job, but Leanne’s not interested.

Later, Leanne is struggling to do the restaurant’s accounts and she tells Janice she’s going to have to delay Roger’s first payment until next month. When Roger finds out, he admits to  Janice that he put all his savings into Leanne’s restaurant to please Janice but now he’s completely skint!

Things get worse for Leanne when Luigi and Tony walk out, telling her they’re leaving before she goes bust. Leanne drags Janice in to do the cooking.

With everything looking bleak, Leanne cancels the restaurant’s bookings. She promises Roger she’ll pay him back as soon as she can, though she has no idea how. So in desperation, she asks Carla to invest. But when Carla says she’d want 60 percent of the business, Leanne turns her down.

When an agency chef arrives, he points out he can’t cook because there is no food. Leanne’s forgotten to order it! Instead, Janice decides they’ll serve Freshco’s ready meals!

Meanwhile, Paul offers to take Jack and Vera out for a meal. He tells them he’s going to quit his job and move in with them. When he tells Leanne her food is terrible, Leanne is offended. But Paul explains he’s a chef…

He asks Leanne for a job and impresses her when he cooks her lunch. Paul explains how he had to leave his last job as he was caught in bed with the owner’s wife. Leanne’s amused and gives him the job.

Liam and Carla lock horns

Liam and Maria flirt when she cuts his hair. Liam’s furious when he finds out that Carla’s sacked Joanne, but Carla thinks it’s funny. Liam gives Joanne her job back. The pair have a huge row with Carla insisting Joanne’s sacked and Liam insisting she comes back to work. Joanne tells them they’re both idiots and can stick their job!

She’s not going without a fight though. The next day, Joanne announces she’s going to take the Connors to court. She’ll sue Carla for unfair dismissal and Liam for sexual harassment. Annoyed, Carla buys her silence with £5,000 and Joanne leaves.

Kirk gets conned

Kirk leaves a customer alone in the butcher’s while he goes to change a £50 note at the cafe. Later he tells Jason and Sarah that someone nicked a leg of lamb and left him with a fake £50 notes.

Is Eileen making a mistake?

Eileen introduce Jason and Sarah to Pat. They all hit it off but the youngsters are shocked when Eileen tells them that he’s married. Judgy Jason is disgusted when Eileen tells him that she and Pat are planning a dirty weekend away.

Good news for Violet!

Violet takes a pregnancy test and bursts into tears at the positive result. She tells Sean the good news but while Sean’s thrilled he’s going to be a dad, Violet’s worried she might have another ectopic pregnancy.

So she goes for a scan and she’s thrilled to hear the baby’s heartbeat. She and Sean toast their unborn baby.
