After being framed by her own brother Carl, Debbie was taken down to the station for questioning. And, spoilers for next week have revealed that she’s soon taking to the stand. Debbie was arrested (Credit: ITV) Debbie Webster’s arrest in Coronation Street Things took a jaw-dropping turn in today’s ITVX episode as Debbie Webster found herself slapped in handcuffs and hauled in for questioning, leaving Weatherfield reeling. Under police grilling, Debbie insisted she’d swapped seats with Carl because he was feeling unwell. But when it emerged Carl had actually been drunk, suspicion quickly swung her way too, with officers accusing Debbie of being over the limit herself. With dementia clouding her judgement, she believed taking the wheel was safer than letting Carl drive. Tragically, that explanation didn’t stop fingers being pointed her way, as she was accused of causing the minibus crash that killed Billy Mayhew. Then came another twist. With his escape plan ruined, Carl accepted Debbie’s offer to move in with her and Ronnie. Kevin was furious, seeing straight through Carl’s act and warning Debbie she could end up behind bars because of him. Is Kevin right? And how long can Carl really let his sister take the blame? Ronnie confides in Michael that he’s terrified Debbie will ignore everyone and plead guilty, a decision that could cost him everything if he loses her. It’s clearly eating away at him. Back at the flat, emotions hit boiling point when Kevin turns up, determined to talk some sense into Debbie. But before things spiral out of control, Ronnie steps in and shows him the door, knowing the situation is already fragile enough. Then Carl Webster arrives and turns the screws even tighter, pushing Debbie to plead guilty and take the fall. Bernie soon follows, offering a very different message. She urges Debbie to stop punishing herself, insisting Billy’s death was a tragic accident and reminding her that Billy would never want her to admit to something she didn’t do. With Ronnie backing Bernie and Carl barely hiding his nerves, Debbie is pulled in every direction. So, when it comes down to it, which voice will she listen to? Lisa hoped that she could make things right with Carla, wondering if Kit was also okay after the accident. They admitted that they'd both almost been dead. Pondering everything, Lisa then wondered whether she was in the right career after all. It seemed Carla and Sarah were better detectives than she was. The community discussed Becky's lies The community came together to discuss both Billy's death and Becky Swain's lies. They couldn't believe what she'd done to Carla and hoped that Carla was doing okay as nobody had heard from her. Summer stayed with Todd Summer couldn't bring herself to stay in the flat alone and visited Todd and asked to stay there the night. Theo then privately stirred the pot, suggesting that the locals were blaming Todd for Billy's death. How cruel! Jodie checked up on Shona At the hospital, Jodie bumped into David and asked him if Shona had had her baby yet. She kept her true identity a secret though. Probably for the best.
