As Lisa prompts Betsy to reconsider moving to Spain, fans spot huge ‘clue’ that Lisa has been playing Becky ever since her return

Is she secretly plotting against Becky?

Becky wanted to jet Betsy off to live with her in Spain tonight in Coronation Street (Wednesday, October 22), but Lisa wasn’t having it.

Betsy had persuaded her mum to let her bunk off work and go out on a shopping spree instead for some bikinis and even a hat (really pushing the boat out with that one).

But, as Lisa gave Becky a good telling off for allowing this to happen, fans reckon that she’s playing a smart game with her wife.

Betsy wanted to move to Spain – but Lisa wasn’t having it

Betsy was scheduled to be working at Underworld today, but she’d rather go shopping at some place called ‘Chicoholic’ than work at a ‘dead end factory on a dead end street.’ Don’t let Carla hear you say that!

She’d managed to convince her mum to let her quit her job at the factory and plan for a whole new life in Spain. So, off she went shopping.

She then returned with lots of bags and asked Becky whether she reckoned Lisa and Carla would join them in Spain too. Becky said that it was worth an ask, but we bet she could think of a million things better than her wife’s partner dampening the mood.

When Lisa returned home, she was fuming to find out that Betsy had missed her shift. She then tried to talk Betsy out of moving to Spain after finding out her plan.

While Betsy was now 18 and could make the decision herself, we reckon Lisa was doing Betsy a favour by changing her mind. For the time being anyway, as Betsy agreed to stay working at the factory while she earned enough cash for her luxurious life on the beach.

With Betsy heading upstairs, Lisa made it clear where she stood with Becky over the situation. She wasn’t impressed at all…

Coronation Street fans spot ‘clue’ Lisa sees through Becky

Despite Lisa confessing to Roy earlier this week that she’s still in love with Becky, or perhaps even more than she was before, fans saw the look on Lisa’s face when she turned her back on Becky. She did a little smirk as if she saw through Becky’s lies and attempts to butter her up.

But, has she been playing Becky all of this time? Or, is that just wishful thinking?

One fan hoped: “I just pray the twist is Lisa playing Becky because surely she must see what is happening. She is high up in the force and should be able to read a room. I love her and want DS Swain to come out on top.”

Another person added: “I hope that’s what the big twist is. Lisa’s been playing her the whole time.”

Another shared: “Is this the first hint that DS Swain has been hiding in plain sight all along? That smirk from Lisa. It’s coming at great emotional cost to her and to her relationship with Carla, but I believe Lisa is play Becky!”

A fourth fan on X wondered: “Was that a little smirk I saw on Lisa’s face after Betsy stormed off up stairs? Is she starting to figure it out or does it mean nothing at all?”

What else happened in Coronation Street tonight?

Bernie and Gemma stitched up Naomi

In the bistro, Bernie and Gemma decided to provoke Naomi in a ploy to bring her true, nasty colours out.

With Bernie sitting in her disguise (a pair of glasses doesn't make you look like a whole new person Bernie!), Gemma got to work on annoying Naomi with utter nonsense small talk.

As Naomi grew more and more frustrated, Bernie filmed her lose her rag. Dev and Kit then turned up which only made matters worse.

Dev then publicly blamed Naomi for Asha's suicide attempt, with one of the bistro customers posting a video of his speech all over social media.

Asha wanted time away

With the whole world now seemingly knowing about her mental health struggles, Asha was devastated.

She'd wanted to keep it a secret, furious with Dev for betraying her trust. At the end of the episode, she packed her bags and told Dev that she would be staying at her friend's place for a while as she needed to get away.

Christina and George got together

In most cases, preventing someone from getting stiffy might be a deal-breaker, but it was quite the opposite for George.

When Christina fessed up to accidentally turning down his stiffy award, it actually led to a heartfelt moment between the pair.

They both then shared a kiss at the undertakers (briefly paused while Christina asked if they could kiss while in the presence of the dead). George told her it was fine as there wasn't a body in.

It was just as well really as George's 'oh Chrissie' suggested they were going to be doing a lot more than just kissing in there.

Abi needed a job

Abi told Carl that she'd told her solicitor not to rinse Kev of everything as it wasn't fair. She then looked to find herself a job, turning up at the kebab shop to try her luck with Dev.

Barely having the chance to sell herself, she was flung an apron and thrown into the deep end while Dev went to deal with Bernie's antics.

Todd's attempt at a pay rise didn't go down well with Theo

After realising how much his new car had cost Theo, Todd felt bad and asked George for a pay rise at work. George rejected this idea but gifted Todd a voucher for a meal instead, as he looked like he needed it.

Finding out that Todd had told George he was having a hard time, Theo lashed out at Todd and told him to give George the voucher back.
