In what was a very dramatic end to murder week, Todd Grimshaw’s abusive husband was discovered dead by Betsy Swain next to some scaffolding. And, this wasn’t just a tragic accident. This was murder. Theo tried to outrun the police, but he couldn’t outrun death (Credit: ITV) Theo Silverton on the run in Coronation Street murder week Monday night’s Coronation Street (April 27) saw Todd caught up in a terrifying showdown with Theo. After calling George to say he’d be late to the Rovers, Todd was stunned to find Theo had let himself into the flat. What began with Theo insisting on cooking a ‘last meal’ quickly turned sinister, as the situation escalated into violence. Todd was forced to defend himself with a knife, while Theo chillingly begged him to stab him. But when Kit and his team arrived, Theo had already fled, climbing down the scaffolding and hiding nearby. George quickly sent Todd off in a taxi to the airport for safety. However, disaster struck when Todd realised he’d forgotten his phone and returned home ahead of his Thailand trip. In a tense final moment, Todd came face to face with Theo once again – who was holding his phone.Don't miss a single story! He paid the ultimate price (Credit: ITV) Theo Silverton killed off in huge Coronation Street twist The scenes that aired tonight followed on from this confrontation, with one final showdown for Theo playing out on screen. Theo was chasing Todd begging him to talk. Meanwhile, Maggie was hold Megan over the edge, wanting to off her before she was stopped by Will. But then Maggie revealed Megan had aborted his baby and Megan ended up walking away. We then found out it was Lily who had confronted Jodie, not a face from her past. Jodie later returned to the Platts’ and smashed the place up before whacking Sarah over the head and knocking her unconscious before she could look in her trinket box. Shona later found Sarah and got her to hospital. Theo went back to his flat and unsuspecting Summer let herself in. He confronted her and she was clearly terrified. Elsewhere Ronnie had an unconscious Carl in the back of his car and didn’t know what to do next as Debbie left him an emotional voicemail about her son. And then we saw Ronnie cleaning out his car with disinfectant and no sign of Carl… However he was later seen in hospital. At the police station Kit told Leanne, Eva and Toyah something new had come to light on Megan’s files. Todd had managed to get away and called Christina who came to get him. And when they got back home to George, he had changed his jumper – was that a clue? Then we saw Maggie lying unconscious on the ground. A very drunk Betsy was then walking down the ginnel and that’s when she screamed because Theo was lying dead at the bottom of the scaffolding. Well that’s a result, at least,” said one on social media. “Thank goodness that [bleep] Theo is gone,” added another. However plenty more viewers were raging. “What a [bleep] cop out. Stop killing abusers,” said someone. Another added: “So Theo is dead just like that? He deserved to live the hell he put Todd thru in prison. Where’s Todd’s justice?” “I can’t believe they’ve killed Theo. So that’s no justice for Todd,” agreed a third. A fourth said: “What an utter travesty to the storyline.
