Sam’s mental health crisis in Coronation Street

Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street saw Sam Blakeman believe that Will Driscoll was out to kill him. Turning up at the Rovers, Sam made out that he wanted to collect Eva’s hair straighteners for Leanne.

However, he then ended up watching Will kill zombies in a video game. He was told by his ‘evil’ Roy hallucination that Will was practicing to kill him.

Sam then ran out of the pub and headed straight into Roy’s Rolls. He locked himself in as Will chased him down the Street.

Inside of Roy’s, Sam was horrified when he saw two versions of Roy. One an hallucination, and one real. The hallucination told him not to trust the real Roy. He was ‘working’ with Will.

Sam then ended up hurting the real Roy. Nina then opened up the cafe just as Roy’s face had been slightly cut from the attack.

Sam the ran off again, with the Street coming together to track him down. It was Carla who found him and managed to comfort him long enough for Nick to turn up and eventually take him to the hospital, worrying that Sam was in psychosis.

Once there, Sam begged his family not to take him. He believed that everyone was trying to kill or poison him, worrying that something was wrong with him. Nick, Leanne and Toyah then promised to get him the help he needed so that he could get better.

Coronation Street spoilers tease huge fallout after Sam ordeal

In Coronation Street spoilers for next week, Nick is left devastated as he anxiously waits for updates on Sam, and his concern soon turns to anger. Convinced that Megan’s court case is at the root of his son’s distress, he lashes out at Ben and Eva, determined to find someone to blame for what has happened.

However, Nick is soon forced to confront the reality of the situation when he sees first-hand just how deeply Sam has been affected. Realising the extent of his son’s suffering leaves him shaken, and he directs his frustration towards Ben, accusing him of failing to uncover Megan’s crimes sooner. In Nick’s eyes, earlier action could have spared Sam a great deal of pain and heartache.

As tensions remain high, those closest to Sam rally around him, offering support during a difficult time. Amid the emotional fallout, Sam quietly makes a heartfelt request to his dad, telling Nick that he would like to see Roy.
