As Summer lies about her whereabouts, every ‘clue’ she could’ve killed Theo in Coronation Street explored

The evidence is stacking up

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Tuesday, May 19), Summer Spellman was taken in for questioning by police after evidence was found linking to Theo.

The police questioned her on a brooch that was found in Todd and Theo’s flat that clearly belonged to her.

Despite this though, Summer denied being at the flat on the night of Theo’s death and insisted that Theo must’ve found it on the Street and picked up.

It’s not looking good for Summer’s story…

Summer’s brooch causes a stir in Coronation Street

Tonight, DS Connor-Swain confronted Summer Spellman in the Street and asked her to come down to the station.

Once there, the detective brought up the topic of the brooch that had been found in Todd and Theo’s flat after his murder.

Showing Summer a photo of herself wearing the brooch at Carla and Lisa’s wedding, Summer had no choice but to admit that she owned it.

However, she denied ever going into the flat on the night of Theo’s murder. She told Lisa that Theo must’ve found it on the Street and taken it back to the flat.

But, Summer’s story is becoming increasingly harder to believe. Here are all the ‘clues’ so far that point to her being Theo’s possible killer.

All the ‘clues’ Summer could be Theo’s killer explored

The brooch

A huge ‘clue’ is the brooch that was found in the flat. The police have connected this to Summer which almost proves that she did head back to the flat on the night of Theo’s murder (which we know because we saw her do so in the murder week scenes).

Could she have been in such a hurry to leave the murder scene that she dropped her brooch on the way out?

Of course, this could also just mean that she dropped it during an altercation but didn’t murder Theo. But, it doesn’t look good, does it?!

Lying about being in the flat

Summer lied to DS Connor-Swain that she hadn’t been in the flat that night. But, we know that she was there because we saw her have an altercation with Theo. And, we know that George saw her head that way too.

Is she lying because she has something to hide? Or, does she know that it doesn’t look good so she’s just trying to protect her innocence? Hmmm…

The journal

Summer’s journal is a huge red flag because George and Christina literally read her note about wanting to ‘point a gun’ at Theo’s head.

This doesn’t mean that she went through with harming him, but it shows that possible intention was there. But, then again, most of the Street wanted Theo dead too. And, if she was to actually murder Theo, she’d be pretty foolish to write it down in a book for someone to stumble upon!

The trip to America

She’s arranged this move to an American university rather quickly, almost as if she’s trying to flee before she gets locked up. It could just be one big coincidence that she landed this opportunity right after Theo’s murder. But, that seems a little too well timed.
