In today’s Coronation Street ITVX early episode (Monday, January 12), Becky Swain was sentenced to a lengthy stint in prison for her schemes.

After Betsy visited her and wished that she was really dead, Becky’s trial was cancelled.

Instead, she was immediately sentenced to more than a decade behind bars. Hooray!

Daughter Betsy Swain visited her mum Becky in prison today. Although, she’d now taken to calling her ‘Becky’ instead of ‘mum.’

Betsy had heard Lisa talking to Carla about Becky’s threats and decided to do something about it.

She then blamed Becky for Mason Radcliffe’s death, explaining that it was her fake death that led to Mason being stabbed by his brothers.

Desperate Becky tried to defend herself in front of her daughter, telling that she never planned for any of that to happen.

But, Betsy wasn’t buying her mum’s sob story. She wished that she’d actually died for real – just like poor Mason.

With Lisa Swain worrying about Becky’s recent threats, she asked Carla to look after Betsy if she ended up in prison just like Becky.

She then went to work and told her boss that Becky had threatened to drag her down with her. She then assured her that she had no idea of any of Becky’s schemes and plots.

Her boss then told her that she didn’t need to worry as there would be no trial… However, Lisa would be on suspended duties while an investigation was carried out.

As for Becky, she had been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The scene then cut to Becky rocking in her prison cell as she replayed the events that led her to this awful fate.

Back at home, Betsy and Lisa then breathed a sigh of relief as they looked to move forward and leave villain Becky well and truly in the past where she belongs. But, is this really the end for Becky?
