RTÉ has confirmed that Beverley has joined the cast of its long-running Irish soap Fair City, marking her first major soap role since leaving Coronation Street. She will play Lily, revealed to be the long-lost mother of established character Gwen. Speaking about Lily’s long-awaited debut, Fair City Executive Producer Brigie de Courcy explained on RTÉ Radio One’s Morning Ireland that the character has actually been ‘two years in the planning,’ hinting that Beverley’s arrival is set to play a significant role in upcoming storylines. Beverley has already begun filming her first scenes this week, with her on-screen debut scheduled for February 19, 2026. This is despite ongoing hopes that Beverley could reprise her iconic role. Liz left the Street back in 2020 when she decided to return to Spain. More recently, speculation reignited after Beverley shared a social media video hinting she was working on a new project. This prompted fans to wonder if Liz might be making a comeback. In November 2025, one fan commented: “If Liz is back I’m watching again. Liz should’ve been the new landlady. Love Liz, she is the Peggy Mitchell of Corrie.” Another asked: “Is Liz making an appearance again?” While a third added: “Your character Liz wore a necklace of that design, could you be returning to the cobbles?” Instead, Beverley is set to make her mark in Carrigstown.
