Idris Nazir arrived onto Coronation Street last night (Tuesday, May 26), and revealed that he was in the property business, taking on an agency nearby.

Alya revealed to Adam that he’d come from nothing and had done really well to make a name for himself and become a successful guy.

But, a new fan theory has predicted a sinister reason behind Idris’ appearance on the cobbles.

‘Dodgy’ Idris arrives onto Coronation Street

Weatherfield had a fresh face on the cobbles last night as Idris made his arrival. And, it wasn’t long before his attention landed firmly on business.

His first moment in town came at Speed Daal, where two difficult customers were causing trouble for Leanne and Alya. Idris quickly stepped in, firmly but smoothly moving them on and immediately marking himself out as someone not to be ignored.

Alya was pleased to realise Idris is family, the cousin of her late father Kal. Leanne was also struck by his calm authority and confident manner.

Idris then opened up about his work in property. He revealed that he’d recently taken control of an estate agency ‘down the road.’ He presented himself as someone building a serious foothold in the area.

Brody was instantly interested, seizing the chance to edge closer and hint at possible work.

Later on, Adam Barlow expressed quiet suspicion about Idris. Alya brushed it off, describing him as capable and loyal to his own. He deserved to be proud of himself. He’d worked so hard to get to where he was today. However, Adam’s concerns didn’t fully fade.

Brody later glimpsed Idris in a heated confrontation over missing cash with an upset lad outside, hinting that his business ambitions may come with complications.

He then asked if Idris was a gangster, but Idris denied it.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts Idris link to Ray Crosby

With Idris clearly being a bit ‘dodgy,‘ fans have become concerned about his true intentions for rocking up on the Street. Especially because he’s in the property industry.

Remembering another person who was heavily involved in property development, a new Corrie fan theory has predicted that Idris is linked to former soap villain Ray Crosby.

Fans might remember that Ray planned to knock down some iconic Street landmarks to build flats on the land. Luckily, this was stopped due to a public protest held by Weatherfield residents.

Ray ended up exiting the Street in 2021 as his crimes, bribery, and attempted rape of Faye Windass (and attempted murder of Debbie Webster) were brought to light.

Could Idris be back to get revenge and finish off what Ray started though? Are the two connected?

The fan theory on X suggested: “Idris Nazir is in property developing, it would be an interesting twist if he’s revealed to be in cahoots with Ray Crosby. Ray hell-bent on revenge gets Idris to completely redevelop Weatherfield, which brings the community together to stop it.”

Does Weatherfield need to prepare to stop another demolition from taking place?
