After already abusing him emotionally and physically, Theo now tried to control Todd financially too. And, he went to the extreme of cutting up his debit card just to make sure that Todd wasn’t tempted to spend behind his back. Theo cut up Todd’s card (Credit: ITV) Todd’s money struggles in Coronation Street Todd has been struggling with his finances for quite a few months now after being out of work. While George offered Todd his job back, this didn’t make up for the time he’d spent isolated at home without bringing in the money. And, for the money he had to pay to repair the damages to his car too. Since then, Todd’s been trying to scrape by the best he can, but he’s had to secretly take a loan out behind Theo’s back. He then found out that Todd had taken out a loan for £7k, with Todd having a go at him for opening his private letter without permission. Theo then told him that they had a bigger issue at hand though as Todd was clearly struggling to keep on top of his money troubles. Todd’s been having money troubles (Credit: ITV) Theo cuts Todd’s bank card up in Coronation Street Telling Todd that they needed to prepare for married life, he shared the details of a recent article he’d read. It said that using cash instead of a card could help people spend less as they could see exactly what they were spending instead of ‘tap, tap, tapping.’ He then decided to cut Todd’s bank card up, telling him that he’d give him cash to spend instead. He’d set up a joint account and would control it himself. If Todd needed any more money, he would have to go through him instead. Todd went along with it, but it was clear that he was reluctant to have his finances controlled by Theo. Will this cause a huge problem for Todd going forward?
