David Platt Features Shona Platt Share By Kerry Barrett Nov 15 2025 By Kerry Barrett Nov 15 2025 Our Coronation Review this week has left us feeling a bit squirmy. It wasn’t a comfortable watch, was it? Between David and Shona’s bad news, Theo manipulating Todd, Becky being super annoying, and the grim grooming storyline about Will and his athletics coach Megan, it was all a bit ick. But that’s not to say it wasn’t also thoroughly enjoyable – at least in parts. Here’s what we thought of all the action in our Coronation Street review. The Platts had bad news (Credit: ITV) David and Shona’s special episode This week’s Corrie was all about David and Shona. They got some bad news at their baby scan; their unborn daughter has a mass on her neck. The stunned couple were told they could choose to terminate the pregnancy, or Shona could undergo a risky procedure to remove the mass before the baby is born. Article Continues Below Read all the latest Spoilers As the couple waited for their scan, we followed both Shona and David over the morning. We watched them, and also – unusually – we heard their thoughts. It was a clever idea, showing the couple pushing each other away, and then coming together before the scan. But we’re not sure it really worked – mostly because we weren’t sure either David or Shona would think the things they were shown to be thinking. In fact, Shona doesn’t strike us as the sort of woman who thinks about anything really. Is that too mean?! Anyway, Shona was really horrible about Roy. David phoned his mum for a chat. It was all a bit odd and out of character. But the storyline is shaping up to be an emotional one. Becky’s really annoying (Credit: ITV) Carla took on Becky in our Coronation Street review We just need Becky to go away now. Carla was totally right that if she really had been seen by one of the baddies she wouldn’t have put Lisa and Betsy in danger. But actually, we’re past caring. It’s a stupid storyline. Will was pleased when Eva revealed he was going to be seeing more of Megan (Credit: ITV) Will and Megan’s storyline continued Elsewhere on the cobbles, the very icky and uncomfortable ‘romance’ between Will and his athletics coach Megan was off and then on again. Maggie and Eva teamed up to bring Megan to Weatherfield twice a week, unwittingly helping the teen’s groomer. It’s a hard watch, this story. But we have to say, even though Will’s only been in Coronation Street for a couple of weeks, we’re invested. We know this sad tale is going to keep on for a while longer, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. And we’re interested in the parallels between this story and Tim Metcalfe’s experiences. Maggie made her mark (Credit: ITV) Maggie’s singing Speaking of Maggie Driscoll, she took her life in her hands this week when she took to the mic in the Rovers and SANG. That’s right, she sang Sweet Caroline to the punters when Glenda was RIGHT THERE. Glenda! Of cruise ship entertainment crew fame. And that’s not even the worst of it. Because who else was in the pub when Maggie started singing? Only blooming Rita! Nightclub singer extraordinaire Rita. Oh the stories she could tell about her days on stage at the Orinoco… Anyway, we were shocked when neither Glenda nor Rita tried to takeover singing duties. But we reckon Maggie’s got a target on her back now. Just wait until the next Rovers karaoke night. Joanie came home and everyone was pleased – including us! (Credit: ITV) Metcalfe magic in our Coronation Street review Meanwhile Joanie came back to the Metcalfes’ house and Brody spent some time with Kit, and realised he’d been a bit mean to Sally and Tim. And those tiny moments made us realise how good that family are becoming. Brody’s great as he tries to make sense of family life, and Sally and Tim – who we loved anyway – are so brilliant as parents. It was a good choice to make them foster parents. George’s text message had a mistake in it! Not cool, George (Credit: ITV) Todd and Theo (and George’s spelling) Theo’s horrible controlling behaviour reared its head again this week when he messed with Todd’s phone. But that wasn’t the most shocking thing about the whole episode. No. The most shocking thing was that George used the wrong ‘your’ in his message. We expected more from you, Shuttleworth.
