Attempting to explain why she felt uncomfortable about the arrangement, Carla then shared a difficult piece of her past with her future wife.

Today, Carla opened the door to find a smiling baby on the doorstep. Lisa then spotted a woman unloading a car and went on have a word with her.

Returning indoors, Lisa explained that Sheila was the grandmother of the baby and was Mandy’s mum. Mandy had left her took care for her and Rob’s baby but Sheila needed to have some minor surgery, hence leaving Connie in Carla and Lisa’s care.

Carla told Lisa that Connie needed to go and that they couldn’t look after her. She had no idea how to look after a baby. Lisa then reassured her, offering to help show her how to.

Emotionally, Carla also opened up to her about her past miscarriage. She was pregnant in the past and was looking forward to being a mum to her daughter before sadly losing her.

Her daughter would’ve been 11 now. She thought she’d put the loss to the back of her mind, but Connie’s appearance has brought everything back up for her.

With Lisa by her side though, Carla then came round to the idea of babysitting Connie. This way, she’d avoid being out into care. And, the little one had already suffered through so much. After all, she had Rob’s eyebrows.

Carla’s 2014 baby loss revisited

In 2014, Carla Connor was pregnant with Peter Barlow’s baby. She initially didn’t want to have the baby and was accompanied by Michelle to the abortion clinic.

However, she then changed her mind and came round to the idea of being a mum. Excited about the idea of having a daughter, her pregnancy coincided with a number of stressful situations during that period.

Peter Barlow was having an affair with Tina McIntyre, who Carla’s brother Rob Donovan had actually killed.

It was a fight between Peter and Rob that became too much, with Carla collapsing and being rushed to hospital.

Carla was then told that she had lost her baby after suffering a miscarriage five months into the pregnancy.
