Fears for George as Coronation Street’s ITVX release shows Theo plot against him

*Warning, this article contains Coronation Street spoilers for George Shuttleworth, as evil Theo sets his sights on him.

Over the last lot of months, Coronation Street has been airing very dark scenes as Theo’s continuous abuse against Todd ramped up.

However, this week aired a shock break-up between the couple. But now that Theo can’t watch Todd every second of the day, when he sees something he doesn’t like, it sets him off. And that’s exactly what happens tonight, which puts George right in the firing line.

Theo and Todd broke up this week in Coronation Street

Earlier this week, the former couple had a huge altercation at Theo’s birthday bash, and ultimately it was him who decided they should part ways, after spending the night sleeping in his van.

The next day, Todd had no idea where Theo was and phoned George to call in sick to work. Obviously, nobody knew that Todd had just been threatened by a knife mere hours before.

Later, Gary headed over to the flat to pick up Theo’s things, and while he was there, he filled Todd in on what’s happened.

Todd then apologised to Theo for his behaviour, and Theo apologised too, but it wasn’t very convincing. They then admitted their relationship wasn’t working, and Theo blamed Todd for making him unhappy.

While it looked like Todd had finally gotten away from Theo, tonight’s episode (March 12) shows the abuser is still manipulating the life around Todd. And when George defended him after Theo learned some news, things got bad.

George is now in Theo’s way

In tonight’s episode, Theo walks in on Summer and George discussing the fact that James Bailey had spent the night at Todd’s flat – 0n the sofa.

When he tried to act like it didn’t bother him, George reminded Theo that even if something had’ve happened between Todd and James, it wouldn’t be an issue, as Todd is now single.

Theo tried to pretend that he was fine with what George said, but he quickly left the shop. And later on, in Speed Daal, Theo was intrigued when Gary told him the woman Adam was having a conversation with is Annie – the person accusing George of fraud.

Waiting until Gary left, Theo headed over to speak to Annie himself. Instead of defending George, who has done nothing wrong, Theo played straight into Annie’s hands.

He told her: “George Shuttleworth? It’s been on the cards for a long time, that scandal.” And then he went on to lie about how George “tried to rob” him of his inheritance after his mother-in-law passed away.

Taking to X after watching the early release, fans expressed their concerns for George. One penned: “Oh no. Now Theo’s going to go after George.”

Another added: “Seriously. Every episode Theo gets worse and worse. Corrie better make sure they give Todd a lot of therapy and happiness after this.”

“Not Theo having that chat with Annie. I really hope that doesn’t make things worse on George,” a third penned.

So, with Theo’s sights now on George, could there be more shocking twists in store?
