With David almost missing the appointment thanks to Kit Green, today’s episode saw Shona’s husband turn up just in the nick of time. And, it was a good thing he was there to support Shona as the scan picked up on something that was a cause for concern. David almost misses the scan (Credit: ITV) David arrested before Shona’s baby scan in Coronation Street The episode started with Shona getting ready to attend her baby scan. She was excited to find out the gender of the baby but grew increasingly nervous when David failed to pick her up to take her to the hospital. With Sarah stepping in to take her, Shona worried that David would miss another one of their scans. He might’ve not been stuck in a lift this time but he did have a good excuse. Due to his petty feud with Kit Green, David had ended up being arrested for pushing into Kit. He managed to get there just as Shona Platt was being called into her appointment. Phew. The sonographer then started the scan. She informed the couple that she would be checking that everything was okay with the baby. They’d need to come back the next day for more information. David Platt tried to distract Shona from searching into it online by sticking on one of her favourite films and getting her a takeaway but it was of no use. The situation was made worse when Audrey turned up wanting to know the baby’s gender, talking about baby gifts. Shona snapped before apologising, later confiding in David her fears that something was really wrong with their baby. David then reassured Shona that everything would work out and they’d get to see their baby grow up. Shona then told him that he couldn’t say that for sure. With the couple dreading their next appointment, Wednesday’s episode will follow on from this in a special instalment of the soap. This will focus on the couple’s reaction to being told that Shona might have to undergo a complex surgery. What will the couple decide?
